Trying to get ducks in a row for installing a baro damper, since once I have it go out I'd like to not have to let it go out again...

What is the proper reading from a manometer supposed to be when adjusting the baro damper? I don't have documentation with the stove; I thought there was some, but I wonder if the contractors threw it out after installing the stove and chimney :x so I don't know if there was information about draft or baro dampers for this stove.

I don't know how it translates to your Hitzer, but the Harman manual for the Mark series indicates a draft of .06. I keep mine a little lower, between .04 and .05 since that works best with my setup. I can tell when fly ash is getting built up on the baffle & pipe when it drops to .03.

Read the thread on Manometer Install and Baro Installation. Most hand fired stoves run .04-.06.
