its not all bad or Doom and Gloom

A corn burning pal of mine posted this fun they were having yesterday

I couldn't stop laughing when it first ran - I no longer could stay up on a snow board - but I would have ties a big inner tube on and given that a ride.

We didn't even get any flurries out of this last one.

Watch out for the next one. This one may get most of us inlanders. I guess it depends on where you are as to what you will get.

Here in St Regis Falls which is about 50 miles north of lake placid we got about eight inches on the ground. Lots of ice on the roads. I got a front loader pot bellied stove that is keeping me and the wife warm. Once you learn how to fire it, it lasts about 12 hrs on one filling. shake it down and refill it and its good for another 12. Still looking for a cheaper place for coal other than aubuchon hardware.

Hi Tom, what price are you paying at Aubuchon? There is a guy in Bangor that sells bulk, and you can get bagged coal from Hulbert Bros. in Malone.

Aubuchon charges $7.49 per 40# bag of Blachack coal - nut. Deane Rockwell sells bulk at comparable prices. His coal yard is behind the lumber yard of Samples. What's Hulburt charge?

Last time I checked it was $260 per ton for bagged Kimmel's, but that was at the Plattsburgh store.

$260 - that works out to $0.13 per pound. A 40# bag would be $5.20 per bag plus tax. For me to drive to plattsburgh it wouldn't be cost effective. Saint Regis Falls is about 90 miles from Plattsburgh - rt 11 to 190 & rt3. Besides I have no truck, just an economy ford sedan. I used to have a big olds van but it blew a head and intake gasket so I had to junk it.
