I keep Getting Logged Out

This is assuming you have checked the box "Log me on automatically each visit". This sets a cookie on your machine and if you're blocking cookies from this site it will not work. These cookies are only used for forum features and nothing else. Other problems include the cookie has become corrupted. If this is new issue and it worked before you may want to also consider if you recently installed any type of security software recently that coincides with this issue starting.

For All Browsers

• Try the "Delete Cookies" link in the lower right hand side. After you do that you will get logged out and have to login again.

For Internet Explorer

• If you are using IE's "InPrivate" browsing feature you cannot use the "Log me on automatically each visit" feature here or on any other site. The cookie set on your machine is destroyed when you close the browser window.
• To see if you are blocking cookies on this site look in the lower right corner. If you see this symbol then IE is blocking cookies from this site.

  To enable cookies for this site double click the little red icon which will bring up a dialog box of cookies that have been blocked from this domain, right click the nepacrossroads.com URL and select "Always accept cookies from this site". You may also find other cookies listed there such as one from Google but you do not have to allow them for proper operation of nepacrossroads.com . • You can try the nuclear option, click: Safety Delete Browsing history
  
  Uncheck Preserve favorites website data. Temporary Internet Files and Cookies need to remain checked. The others are optional.
  
  Note this will remove ALL cookies from every site you are logged into.

For FireFox

• If you are using "Private Browsing" feature you cannot use the "Log me on automatically each visit" here or any other site. The cookie set on your machine is destroyed when you close the browser window.
  
  1. Remove temporary internet files by clicking:
     
     Tools >> Clear Recent History .
     
     From the drop down box select "Everything". Click the button next to details and make sure Cache is checked. Alternatively you can check cookies but note this will remove cookies for all sites. See the next step to remove individual cookies.
  2. If you have not removed all cookies in the step above you can remove individual cookies from FF by going to: Tools >> Options >> Privacy >> Remove Individual Cookies . Scroll through the list or search for nepacrossroads, highlight the nepacrossroads.com folder and select "Remove Cookies". Alternatively you can remove cookies from all sites but you will lose all auto logins you may have set up elsewhere.
• This need for this last fix is proabaly rare but it happened to me in the past where the file that holds all cookie data can become corrupted, no amount of trying to delete cookies will fix it. Firefox can recreate this file if you "delete" it. First clear your cache using the directions above and then close Firefox.
  
  Open up windows search and find this file:
  

  cookies.sqlite

  
  
  It will probably be in this folder:
  

  Code: Select all

  C:\Documents and Settings\<your name>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.....

  
  
  You have to go to the folder because there is two files you need to work with.
  Find these:
  

  Code: Select all

  cookies.sqlite
cookies.sqlite-journal

  
  And Rename them:
  

  Code: Select all

  cookies.sqlite.bak
cookies.sqlite-journal.bak

  
  
  Restart Firefox and try to login. If in the event you want to restore the files above delete any new files created and simply rename with their original extension.
