Obama would gladly sell us out to appease Islam. He despises Christians and his choice of Errol Southers for TSA shows how far he will go to paint Christian groups as the real enemy of America to draw attention away from Muslim extremists. To avoid saying this Ft. Hood shooter was an Islamic Terrorist is inexcusable.

Obama is a Manchurian Candidate - we find that impossible to believe because its sounds so fantastic.

Wake up.

Are you really a teacher? What level?

What do you teach? Bigotry?

"Patriotism" often involves NOT saluting.

Ask Tom Paine, John Adams, Patrick Henry or any of the other Founding Fathers, who would care far less about the photo than the fight in the man.

enough time has gone by since the founding fathers, to have allowed the people of this nation to have learned the respect of the act of saluting the flag and its importance and symbolism projected to its inhabitants by its top "DOG". I doubt if all that acrued ,"blood, sweat, and tears" to maintain its symbol was in those founders stored history that they would be acceptable to his disgrace of our great flag......

would you salute the flag if in his shoes in this picture? I would ;)

Why don't we start a poll?

How many of you would you salute our current Commander in Chief?

How about when not in uniform?

And how many knew -- before the BFD was made about it in 2008 -- that "hand over heart" is the correct etiquette not only for the Pledge but also for the Anthem? I never did.

When and where did you learn about the anthem?

Because I've been in some pretty big ballparks and, while everybody knows hats are to come off, I never saw hatless people with hands on hearts for the Anthem before the summer of 2008.

Tom Paine died in penury and disgrace for his attacks on George Washington. As for the other two I think they would be as shocked as I am. If it is a deliberate act and not momentary forgetfulness, then what message is he conveying, if not contempt?

My point is that, as to the Anthem, hand over heart for the hatless was an obscure custom before 2008.

You must not have been in any public school during the 70's or 80's. I seem to remember doing it every day.
