Apologize to no one! Remind those of our sacrifice and don't confuse arrogance with leadership. If I added correctly the count is 104,366 dead. And we have to listen to an American leader apologize to Europe and the Middle East that America is "arrogant"!

HOW MANY FRENCH, DUTCH, ITALIANS, BELGIANS AND BRITS ARE BURIED ON OUR SOIL, DEFENDING US AGAINST OUR ENEMIES?

WE DON'T ASK FOR PRAISE ... BUT WE HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO NEED TO APOLOGIZE!!

I dont believe that is american arrogance. If you dont stand for something you fall for anything. I think you are being ignorant for saying these brave men and women died for nothing. IMO that is very sad. at least our country defends what is right. unlike other country's who are to afraid to stand up and protect those who cant defend themselves.

and yes apologizing to Europe and the middle east is arrogant, and stupid. If obama hates america so much he should leave. no one is keeping him here. he is the one who is not an american citizen and should get the hell out if he doesnt like our beautiful country and what we stand for. Same goes for you as well.

Why is jingoism the national past time?

I don't see Southeast Asia and the Philippines on your list.

I don't see the constitutional monarchy of Hawai'i either.

Nor Guatemala or any number of other Latin American nations.

When people talk about American arrogance, they aren't talking about WWI and WWII.

They are talking about all the other stuff that most Americans don't know or won't admit to.

A good number of Frenchman died fighting for our freedom in the American revolution. We would not have prevailed against England without French assistance, particularly naval assistance.

This was something sent to me in an email, author not listed. The point it was making was "For those of you who call us arrogant, look what we have done". The person who sent me this is a decorated Vietnam Veteran and I am ex-Marine. I think you totally misunderstood what this was about. The person who sent this is simply an old proud soldier from a family of soldiers who is offended by the current state of affairs.

I think that what American Arrogance is just a part of what we were called for many decades, has nothing to do with the sacrafices our brave men made during the war. Like most people the world has short term memory, we were always known as ugly Americans due to our arrogance & many other actions that Americans have exhibited all over the world be it politics or sporting events. Just M.O. look up ugly American there are far better explainations than what I am attempting to say.

Thee are many countries in the world where you would love the people, but hate the goverment, and sometimes the people hate their own goverment too ! Unfortunately, the people are the ones who are labeled, and who carry the burden !

To the outside world, we are perceived as arrogant, and we should not be in denial about it ! and the outside world does not always see the wonderful hard working down to earth Americans !

The media, the politicians, and the corporate people doing business abroad, along with some of our armed forces who commit crimes , and many other reasons, are what potray us as arrogant !

Well you didnt have those quotes in your original message. You should of mentioned if you didnt agree with that.

I Feel sorry for the old soldier who doesnt agree with defending freedom. That is too bad. If we werent over seas defending freedom right now things would be 10 times worse then they are now.

The reason other countries view us as arrogant is from the liberal media and the liberal politicians in DC always condemning war and under mining our troops at every turn.

Its to bad these other countries dont seem the hard working down to earth americans we are. Its not my problem they cant see this, its our medias problem and the libs in dcs problem for bashing america every chance they get. It doesnt help that we have a president who constantly slams america and is apologizing at every turn to try to make himself look like the good guy. Im not buying it and i know our enemies arent buying it either. He looks like a complete idiot when he does and they see right through it.

You think most of the world spends it's time watching Kieth Olberman?

If the troops weren't in nearly every country in the world, could the media "undermine" them?

Two years ago I was travelling in Europe with family visiting family. I got to spend alot of time with locals. In every country I visited I asked the same question. What do the people in your country think of Americans? The same answer was that, "We like Americans and want to visit America. We just hate American Politics. My take is that the term arrogant Americans pertains to the politians and how they dictate what happens or should happen throughout the world good or bad.

I'm guessing Europeans don't have QUITE the same view as the people who are on the receiving end of our bullets and bombs while we "make the world safe for democracy"....

You're right, Jeff, they don't. My wife still owns her family's little house in Frankfurt and I can tell you that Europe -- and it's no secret the rest of the world -- breathed a sigh of relief when Obama won last year. Why? Simple. COWMA. ("Coalition of the Willing, My A$$.) And I don't think anybody's surprised about Afghanistan, because at least everybody understands that's where the bad guys were and could return -- and the only place where the effort to pinch them in Pakistan can be managed.

But there is great risk in invading countries that haven't invaded us. Like we become "invaders." Plus, recall that we never tried any of that sh!t with the USSR or China, and we haven't recently with Iran or N. Korea. Can you guys figger out why? Sarah Palin didn't know what the "Bush Doctrine" was but, nukes or not, we had never preemptively invaded a country before Iraq -- and we sure didn't agree with the few countries that have (shall we list those?).

So how do you guys define "arrogance"? For me, DAISNAID ("do as I say, not as I do") comes pretty close.
