I'm late! Santa's elves had an after party & ended up in the back yard for party time. All the cute little buggers came in to use the toilet, play with the dogs, try out all the new games, and watch a few movies. It was so fun I made an elf of myself and didn't get to bed until.....Hmmm... have I been to bed yet?
I hope you all had a pleasant, safe Christmas. We're you good enough so Santa brought you a present, yet bad enough so you got plenty of coal?

Morning Freddy. Glad to hear you had a jolly old time up there is Maine. There was quite alot of Merry making here as well. I asked Santa for a weather station and the big guy came through. Like most folks this year we agreed to drastically scale back. In fact we did last year as well. But we had a very nice Christmas with the family here for dinner.
Couldn't help but think about our coal brother Stokerscot and his family mourning the loss of their son Jason. Just a very sad thing. Locally an 11 year old girl who had been missing for 2 days was found murdered at the Md/Del state line area. She was abducted from her bed by her aunts' "boy friend", a registered sex offender. These are horrible things to be sure but even worse at Christmas. Let's hope things are better in the new year for all.

Pretty quiet here, just took the wife to work at 0630 and sitting here drinking my coffee. Went to the inlaws yesterday, took my mom to my wife's moms house for a little family get together. Our house is all quiet, didn't even put a tree up this year, since it's just the 2 of us. (the cats would have it destroyed anyway).... :)

Out to the garage to finish building a pantry cabinet for my wifes mom. Have a good day!

The wind is blowing in Pennsylvania. We drove 30 foot H beams into the ground on both sides of the hose and put chains over it to hold it down.

My wife got a nice dust pan and broom for Christmas as well as a vacuum cleaner and a very nice yellow Rubbermaid rolling mop bucket with matching mop and “wet floor” sign

My girlfriend got 1 carrot diamond stud ear rings.

My wife was very ungrateful to Santa but the girlfriend made up for that.

I had some plans for today but the weather may keep me inside most of the day. Lots of things to do either way, I’ll pick and choose and be sure not to over exert myself.

Sorry to hear about the tragedies around the holidays, that always seems to compound the sadness.

Enjoy boxing day, be safe.

Taking the wife and my two favorite girlfriends to the dinner train tonight :) A 1940s dinner car with fabulous food and a real nice ride, booze too. Wish you guys could join us.

The aunt should be charged with child endangerment and thrown in jail. The "boy friend" has a long, sordid past with the law and there is no way she couldn't have known it. This is yet another example of adults failing the children in their care; hold the adults responsible for that failure and they will stop allowing the "boy friends" around. I hope someone from this state grabs this issue and seeks a law aimed at the parents and guardians of these children. This isn't my state but I'll be calling my state representative after the Holidays. This happens to often in too many states to ignore.

The search for this child and concern for Scott's family overshadowed our Christmas but we still had a good time. We like many scaled back but no one complained. I'm blessed with children who recognized the hard times facing the nation and the even harder times coming down the road. We had the opportunity to take our family to see the "The Christmas Sweater" last week. I know some of you won't want anything to do with that book or story because it's written by Glenn Beck but you'd be making a huge mistake. It is the story of forgiving and being forgiven and hope for the future. The message was what my son, who has been having a rough year through no fault of his own, needed to hear. I know he is thinking about the message because he brings it up during quiet moments. I understand it's now in libraries and I think it's something to add to your reading list.

I guess it's on to after Christmas sales and New Year. Take care this week, as I tell my kids, there are a lot of nuts out there. Lisa

Morning all! Dim your computer monitors if the light is too bright for your hangovers. Turn down the volume and grab a cup off Columbia's finest. 8-)
We are getting RAIN on top of our bee-u-ti-ful snow. 40F here, and melting  I had to let the F.P. die last night, but kept the DVC-500 running.
Anyone going shopping today? My wife wants to hit Walmart when she gets home from work at 1:00

Had a real nice Chrismas dinner at our home with all of the family. As always - too much too eat but fun times for "young" to "old" - ages I fall into depending upon the time... So todays Saturday Coffee is an opportunity to think about yesterday with a smile on my face.

Wishing us all grace in life for the coming new year.

Hello List--

No elfs left here. With temps near 40F today, would be good time to perform some winter maintenence on the motorcycle in the cold garage. I need to replace the steering bearings. They are very dry, holding them in my hand, seem a tad shaky & loose. So I think I will buy replacments rather than repack & replace. The internet is a great thing. Directions to repair most any issue with motorcycles are posted somewhere if you look.. Really gives us DYS'ers that little extra confidence to perform those what would be, *very expensive* repairs if done at the motorcycle shop. I can do it for less than $50 on my own with some pictures and directions on the web.

Glad everyone has or is enjoying Christmas. Ours was wonderful. Kids home with their boy and girl friends sharing the festivities. Made the trip over the river and through the woods - maybe not it that order ;) - and visited with my wife's side for a great Christmas dinner. Fun and games for all. It's amazing when you see the next family generation beginning to learn our traditions. With a full belly and trunk, we were off to visit my house bound father and spent the end of the day with my Mom and Dad. They are truly blessed by living in great neighborhood where everyone looks out for them. Dad always helped everyone when he could and it's coming back to them ten fold with help cleaning the snow, a great Christmas dinner and visits galore! It is a wonderful life.

Always goes by so fast! :? :D

Me & the fellas went out Christmas eve to the rip joint .... gotta support the college girls durin' the holidays! :woot: After an afternoon of debauchery, I remembered I never got a card for the wife  , so we went to the local Wal-Mart ..... never a dull moment in that place! After being nearly trampled by folks from 4 different continents, I finally checked out with my card without losing my temper ... Must be that Christmas spirit! So after that circus ride, me & my buddy hopped in my truck & just hung out in the parking lot, shooting the crap for a while, when all of a sudden the whole lot lit up with blue strobes ..... The cops were bagging a whole crew of people of questionable legal status in a minivan. We sat & watched as the occupants were cuffed & stuffed, then watched the flatbed haul their van away for an expensive Christmas in the impound yard! Like I said, NEVER a dull moment at Wal-Mart! :funny: Better than watching TV!

Made the treck to my parents house with the wifey on Christmas. Had a good time with the relatives & a great ham for dinner. Was still a tough commute even though there weren't many people out ...... the ones that were had no place to go, I guess .... the only reason I figure for going 15MPH in a 35 zone, but to each his own .... it's Christmas ... gotta keep the temper in check! ;)

Here I am, eating breakfast at 12:15 ...... looking back, Christmas always flies by. Next up, NEW YEARS! :drunk: Just hope that '10 is better than '09. This year can kiss the fattest part of my ...........! 8-)
