Bob ,The KB-8 is a great boiler. I know, Ihave one in my house and i heat a 5000 sq ft with 2 apartments and all domestic hot water. The KB-8 has a 9" smoke pipe, but can be reduced to 8" at the chimney. any and all parts are still available from keystoker. My boiler was made in 1981, best guess, it was used for steam and abandoned still hooked to the heating system, and filled with water to the radiators when i found this gem. A little cleaning, a few used parts , some new gaskets, and i'm very well satisfied. My KB-8 is hooked to a 5" Field powervent with a 8" field rc baro. The boiler is hooked in series with my Weil-McLain gas boiler , on a 8 zone heating system. I use no coal-trol thermostats, just Lux brand setback thermostats. I installed 2 4gal tankless water heaters, 1 for each apartment, on independant pumps and hot air coils. in this very cold, bitter weather I use about 4 to 5 5gal buckets of rice anthricite. The KB-8 is a great choice to heat with, without a lot of work. If you decide not to buy the boiler, pm me with it's location, i'll come to mass for it.
