C'mon...no grammatical errors and it was to to the point. That PROVES I haven't been drinking right?! ;)

It maybe doesn't matter to YOU, but weren't the D's the ones crying about "tradition" and "decorum" when what's his face was yelling "You lie!" or when Al Franken refused LIEberman another 10 munties to drone on?

Or is being drunk on the floor part of the "tradition"?

If you don't see a difference between heckling a Presidential joint-session address and the Baucus vid, I can't help you.

Franken not consenting to the (normally routine) unanimous consent request by Lieberman is unusual but not unprecedented. It was necessary to get through the schedule before Xmas and was in direct response to the dilatory tactics which the GOP openly was using to kill the HC bill.

Has partisanship in DC become overheated? Yes, ever since Newt and the CWA boys made no bones about their intentions to play rough when they rolled into town in Jan 1995. But you have to give Pelosi credit for squelching the left-side pressure for impeachment after the 2006 election. The Dems could have responded in kind to the Clinton impeachment -- they certainly had better grounds -- but they chose to break what could have been an endless cycle of make-weight impeachments, which could have threatened the constitutional balance of power.

The next problem is figuring out a better answer to Senate paralysis, now that the filibuster is a regularly used device.

Richard S. wrote:This topic is not about Foley as much as you may want it to be, the common tactic is to deflect the discussion and I'm not going to allow you to do that. Your point about Foley has been made now back to the video that anyone can view, make their own judgments and use to draw their own conclusions.

Instead of trying to delefct the discussion onto Foley perhaps you might have comment on the video itself?

Gosh, I'm sure glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that behavior in Jon.

You go, Richard.

Here's what I saw:

Max Baucus slurring his words like Foster Brooks.

Anybody who thinks Baucus wasn't drunk is either a political hack or, they themselves are in a such constant state of inebriation that he just looked normal.

If Max was drunk, it just shows how incredibly easy it is to lay waste to the wing-nuts these days.

In fact, I'll bet you guys are "outraged" that our "Muslim" President is having the "jock-bomber" prosecuted in Federal Court, right? (Careful, now....) :P

Now slow down here.
Just because Obama went to Muslim School doesn't make him a Muslim, afterall he went to Catholic School too!
[then as an adult he attended a church that espoused ***edited***] I wonder to which doctrine he *does* adhere...huh...
Doesn't seem to pledge allegiance to flag either ! This could make a casual observer, such as myself, wonder.
