Ive gotta try them and compare them to Reading which I currently use.

Need to contact them to get delivery to Pgh.
If anyone knows someone in Pgh. area that sells "Superior" brand coal that'd be helpful too.

finally talked to Superior's HQ and they don't deliver. Closest dealer is Williamsport and they want $8/50# bag.

Ill have to do a 500 mile round trip and I can only carry a ton at a time.

I heard that Triple R trucking will deliver Superior coal to Pgh. so Ill post for anyone who knows how to contact Triple R.

Do one think it would be worth the time to drive 150 miles one way to Superior coal and get 3 ton at $160 per ton or should I just pickup from my local buy who is 30 miles one way but at $210 per ton (unknown source).

Would save $150 in the coal but I would spend $60 more in fuel for the truck. Plus 1.5 hours time vs 6 hours.

Really depends on how much your time is worth to you. Some folks will spend hours to save pennies. Others will spend hundreds to save a few hours.

Chose a time when the weather is good and watch your speed. No need for an accident or ticket to ruin your trip.

If your local dealer will tell you where the coal is from (and I don't see any reason why he shouldn't) and it if from a good source then I suppose it is debatable whether a trip to Superior is worth it. One thing I can say is that everyone who I know who has bought from Superior (including me) has been very satisfied with the coal. It would be worth the trip at least once to get a load and try it out. Or get some there and then ride over to Mt. Carmel and get some at UAE Harmony, it's good stuff (burning it right now).

Call The breaker back and ask for trucking co. numbers that by the coal from them Double Run trucking co.is one
But like all trucking co. They will have minimal load like 18 to 20 or more tons before they will deliver to you .
