hey neil,
recieved my coal trol from you on friday (easton, pa dynamic balancing shop) and to be quite honest with you I am extremely impressed with its operation. believe me this is way more than a programmable thermostat. I am still trying to figure out how it can control my Harman the way it has.
i am guessing this thermostat sees temperatures in alot tighter (instead of seeing72 it might sense 72.1 or even 72.01) and adjusts feed accordingly.

i am very satisfied with it performance. and would recommend it to who ever has a wife that complains about being to cold and 15 mins. later being to hot.

the settings I have our as follows

min 13
max 70
hfl 0

on my feeder I am pushing around 1.5 dots.
i still have some fine tuning but will leave it go as to not over adjust.

my only question is is there any way to get it to ramp up/ down quicker

tony b.

Thanks Tony, We are glad it's working out.

This is a fairly tricky problem, that we are working on. Because coal burns slowly, we are required to have the control work within the combustion response of the fuel. We are working on some fairly involved mathematics that will predict how much extra fuel to add sooner to allow the stove to recover or move to a new setting quickly.

I cannot give you a time when this will be done, hopefully by next heating season.

We have upgraded a number of customers to the most recent versions of our firmware for a small charge i.e. $25 including shipping in the past. I expect we will continue to offer this as we go forward.

Thanks for asking, and we are on it.
Neil
