I think we all found some wood in our coal at some point or another....Thats common....We want to know about other, off the wall items you found in your delivery.....Why can't there ever be a case of beer hiding between those black nuggets....LOL!

This last Spring when I cleaned out the Axeman Anderson I found a bunch of nails...maybe a dozen, all welded together. I know they didn't come from ME. My pet peeve in life is lost nails. When we do a construction job each and every nail is accounted for. If you come on my property I promise you will never step on a nail or a board with a nail sticking out of it.

I found a squished up soda can and just yesterday I found a larger washer "welded" to two pieces of Reading nut coal. I don't know if the rust was holding it together but I couldn't break it apart.

I believe it's a ball bearing. I found it on top of the ash pan.

I found Chuck Norris deep in a 24 ton load of Buck last year. He was not so calm when the loader took a 3 ton pass out of his hiding place. He's ,OK, just not too happy!

His Texas Ranger Badge was lightly tarnished from the ride, but still serviceable.

Found everything from the normal wood bits to large rocks and oversize hunks of coal. Never found any metal or other unnatural debris. Some of the rocks were pretty impressive though. From pea size (like coal) all the way to baseball sized.

Once found a herkimer diamond in my driveway...does that count? :D
Used to find a lot of mica chips and some fools gold when I lived in Reading area.

Wire, mostly short pieces 4 to 8 inches. Usually small-gauge bell wire with deteriorated cloth-like insulation.

You know dried out rats should burn well. Heat is heat. I heard at on time they fueled rail road steam engines in Egypt with mummys. :D (Think about that New Hope Engineer) Dead rodents in "old basement coal" sounds common. I've seen it too.

In my friends house in the 50s his dad couldn't get any coal up the worm. Upon digging it out he found a pineapple hand grenade up against the end of the worm. I wouldn't believe this unless I actually saw it which I did. I'm not sure what he did with it.

That would give a new meaning to "puff back".
