Coal quality from Lehigh

Happy New Year! First off this is a great site. I have enjoyed reading eveyones comments on here for a few years now. I have been burning hard coal for about 25 years now and for the most part have enjoyed it. I live about 2 hours west of the hard coal region and would like anyones opinion on coal from a company called Lehigh. Mu supplier normally has either Sherman, Reading or I believe Hudson. This time around he told me he was able to pick up some coal from Lehigh. Any thoughts?

I assume your supplier is talking about "LC&N", or Lehigh Coal & Navigation Company. We got a tractor trailer load from them this year, based on what I've burned so far the quality has been excellent.

I know of 2 people who got substandard coal from them. LC&N is one of the great old time coal companies, it has a long history.

I prefer not to buy from them, but I am biased towards real deep mined anthracite. I need to know that when I travel a few hundred miles for a truckload of coal that I am bringing home the best.

Not a very good shovel man they have. Looks like a rookie.
