Is there no relief from such redundant self-serving twaddle?

Once again, you have nothing to add to an argument so you attack the person you're arguing with.

I asked it before and I'll ask it again...

We just borrowed a trillion dollars from the Chinese to go fight a war in Iraq based on the hysteria drummed up by an administration, that hysteria was based on demonstrably bad intel. Does that not bother anyone?

I apologize if the use of that word offended anyone.

I would assume since the boards default to automatic censoring of such words no one who might be offended by it would have seen it. Such people would probably not have altered their default settings.

I'm not attacking you. I'm TELLING you that there is no place for that laungage in the regular forum. You can have all the hissy fits you want but keep your laungage out of the gutter. There's a separate forum if you feel the need to use it. flame suit central.

Spare me the sanctimony unless you've got dozens of other scolding posts when others have used such language.

I already apologized.

Show me the posts with such laungage in the regular forum. You can't.

I got a good job. I built a new company. I sold it for a lot of money to a bigger company. I retired when I was 35. Now I've started another company. I'll probably start another after this one. You want to play the whiny privilege game? Fine, but frankly I expect more of a self-proclaimed conservative.

I merely said your had a priviledged life, which obviously you do. I never said you didn't earn it. A little sensitive aren't you? By the way. No one here is quite as impressed with eric lawrence as eric lawrence is. We've all read your wonderful sucess story before. (several times I believe) Maybe you should start a whole thread about it.

Yikes! It's "Mod vs. Mod." Is that like "Spy vs. Spy?" :out:

But, back to the topic: Yeah, it bothers me. And it bothers me that this thread has turned into a useless "WMD redux." And what really bothers me is that now we have Yemen as a AQ breeding ground, and then it'll be Somalia, or some other goddam place, all in addition to Afghanistan, and Pakistan, and of course the one we invented, Iraq. Which may point up the absolute folly of thinking we can "control" or "police" or "occupy" all these places. We need a new paradigm (sorry if that requires dictionary reference for any of you), and I happen to believe that's exactly what this President was elected to do and is in fact doing.

But it also bothers me that a guy who criticized what he apparently found to be Erik's condescending, "boorish" language a few posts above used the word "twaddle" to describe his quite plain language defending his position. I find that "unseemly." :P

So, back to the topic again, why don't you guys just put your nooses away? The facts are that the people who occupy cabinet positions are not your choice or mine or ours, they're the President's. And, like the last Prez with Rummy, he has no obligation to do what you or I might prefer, or do it on our schedule.

Well there's this one, by you, in this very thread.

Napolitano should go!

If you want to find more use the search box and look for offensive words, you'll find hundreds of them.

As I said, spare me the sanctimony.

Agreed. Also agree that Rumsfeld should have been gone. But unless Obama has suspended the first amendment I still have the right to voice my opinion about big sis as being an incompetent even if it rufffles the libs here.

Of course I agree that people have a pretty much absolute right to say any freaking thing they want in the public square. Even if it makes no goddam sense. (BTW, I think anybody'd be hard-pressed to find an instance where "coarse" language, when not used to describe a person here, has been reprimanded in any way. Many of us use it all the time to describe ideas or actions, and it's not offensive in that context at all -- except to non-coal-burning weenies.)

And you're right, Terry: it wouldn't be a thread if it didn't ruffle us libs; it'd be the usual wing-nut circle-jerk. :rimshot:

It is apparently OK for some to take a few POT SHOTS, while calling for others to desist.
This is the "I'm OK, you're NOT" syndrome.
Further:
Brandishing your own "Noose" at my use of perfectly clear and acceptable English, that,
I might add, was undirected to any particular person or persons, is shallow.
[My earlier post to which you refer, still applies as the continues, I might add, continues (ad nauseam)]
"unseemly" "twaddle"
How ironic & YOU pretentiously refer OTHERS to a DICTIONARY...
You do yourself NO service in this instance.

I continue in wonderment, with your aforementioned consent...

Well there's course laungage and then there's the F word. Maybe it's just me but in polite society, that's still several notches higher on the scale of coarse laungage.

There is a difference between saying:
Hey "XYZ" you are a Donkey...
And "some people" haven't got the sense god gave a goose...
Or perhaps:
Hey "XYZ" you are a social cripple.
and
"Some people" lack social grace...

I try not to make personal assaults because I don't believe that anyone here enjoys personal abuse.
I think that in the "heat of discussion" some persons are offended. But this is just a friendly forum don't get
yourself into a full blown snit over a post...

ps If I've said anything to offend, I'd happy to repeat it ;)
