Nothing wrong with it if you do not have a cheaper way to heat.

Radiant heat is just like light, it travels in straight lines at light speed, in all directions that are not blocked. It is when it heats air that the hot air rises. Does it rise because it is hot or because it has expanded?

When any fluid is heated it will expand and become less dense because of the molecules moving at a greater rate of speed. The reason it rises is buoyancy. The warmer less dense fluid will rise above the cooler denser fluid unless inhibited by a physical restriction.

That is why smoke rises.

As of this morning the weather forecast has changed so that one week out the temperature is still in the 60s, this is getting crazy. So perhaps all we need is a Edenpure heater. So if any of you are cold and poor I will give you my wifes hairdryer that puts out more than an Edenpure ever does. Looks like that will be enough for this winter.
