Only $60 ?? that's cheap insurance..
Glad that you got it fixed.. we all learned a lot here.. it's amazing that only an 1/8" or 1/4" of stroke will make such a huge difference in the size of the fire..
Do you think it was just normal wear that eventually wore down the heads of the nylon screws causing the extra slop in the pusher?

Glad you have it operating properly again. Do I understand the problem was that the pusher block was jamming in the bore and limiting the stroke and straining the motor? Mike
My Kaa-2 has 180 holes, 12 rows of 15. After looking at the pic you posted of your idle fire, I checked my grate because my idle fire is a lot closer to the hopper. Does anyone know if Keystoker is using different gates or stoker in the Kaa-2? I picked up mine (finally) Feb,091975gt750 wrote:i ran a piece of wire hanger through all 150 holes in the grate and all seem to be ok.

In KEYSTOKER's manual, it mentions at idle; about 3 inches of fire. 3 inches of new coal above the fire. The rest of the grate was to be ash. That's just how mine was running. I had a good 3 inches of new coal above the fire. While trying to fine tune, I pulled 3 pins out of each group of pins in the timer. I noticed the new coal above the fire had gotten smaller than three inches. I put one more pin back in each group. Now my new coal is back to just about 3 inches.efo141 wrote:My Kaa-2 has 180 holes, 12 rows of 15. Thank you all for making your posts available for us to read. I had the gear melt on my a-120 koker. After fixing that I had coal feed problems and very little heat. 250-300f on outside of furnace. Well I readjusted the nylon screws and yes coal can pushed off grate not burned all the way again like when the furnace was new. Finally now the feed rate is normal agin about 7-8 turns, thanks for all the posts I was able to research how important that pusher being centered must be. Hard to believe what a difference a couple threads made. -Marc in Ohio
