What is the square footage of the area you are heating, how warm do you keep the home and how much coal do you go through each day roughly?

Every heating situation/home is different and each stove/furnace/boiler has different heating capacities, what works for one, doesn't for someone else, it is tough to estimate how much each and everyone will use and you would have discuss all the details of outside temperatures, construction, windows, insulation, etc....

60-100#'s / day - 2 Stoves and 2200 sq. ft in a 105 year old Victorian. About 5-6+ ton/6 months, keeping it around 68-69 degrees down and 65 up.

2550 sqft two story colonial with a 1250 sqft basement. The furnace is in the basement. The house is about 70-71 deg downstairs and around 67-68 upstairs. Basement is around 60-65 depending on how often the furnace is firing at high rates.

With outside temperatures around 10-25 degrees and the wind from 10-40 mph I've been burning about 100 lbs/day. With the day time temperatures in the low 30's and the wind more normal it is about 50-60 lbs/day.

6.0-6.5 ton/season thru a 150K BTU furnace to feed warm air into a well-insulated 2-story colonial with basement -- about 3500 ft2 of heated space.

Up here in "upstate/downstate" NY, works out to 100-115#/day avg (150-160#/day max) to heat the whole house thru the meat of the winter.
