Hocon Gas on route 1 in Guilford now has 50# bagged pallets of coal available @ $275 ton. The pallets are 2500# so that is $343.75 a pallet. I have been in there nagging them for a few years, I knew they sold it at their Torrington warehouse and they just need a push here at this small branch to get with the program. :) The coal is from Schuylkill Coal Processing, I've never seen this stuff before but it looks to have a delightful appearance. Almost like graphite. It has been a few years since I bought any coal retail, I guess I felt a little guilty and splurged, got me two pallets. They come stretch wrapped in black poly. He has two pallets of pea left there, I'm sure he'll bring down whatever size you need, but he wants to stick to just selling it by the pallet. Can't say as I blame him there. It will take me a few days to get down to the bottom of the drum on this current load. When I do, I'll let you know how Mr. Axeman likes it. :P

I talked to Jeff Jones at ECT Pellet Sales today. He has washed Redding rice, pea, and nut coal in 50lb bags at $7.50 per bag or $270 per ton. We didn't talk about delivery but I believe that is extra. He said he doesn't have the means to do small bulk loose deliveries but would be willing to arrange whole tractor trailer or triaxle loads deliveries direct to the customers location. We did not get into specific prices for whole truckload deliveries. I haven't done business with him but he seemed nice on the phone. He is located at 841 Route 32 North Franklin, CT 06254. I found ECT's web site. There is an e-mail address buried in it somewhere. http://www.pelletsdelivered.com/anthracite_coal

Yes, it does make some serious ash but burns well and I don't have to drive all the way across the state to get it. Hopefully, this fall, I can come down and see you and get the good stuff. :)
