Dwyer Mark II Manometer

Straihgt in is good.

With the tube unplugged it should read zero. The level should be level. Idling it'll read -.01 to -.03ish. While running it'll be -.03 or -.04. If it gets much higher on a regular basis then you might end up doing what I had to do.... add another damper!

Just add a washer under the weight....and adjust accordingly. Also, after a month or two, check the back of the baro and keep it clean, a small nylon(toothbrush) or brass brush to clean the ash off of it works good.

 This is funny. I see this posted many, many times and it never fails, "oops put to much in". I'm willing to bet probably better than 50%, including myself have overfilled them.

While moving, all of the red oil leaked out of my manometer. I mixed some kerosene with 30 weight motor oil until it looked like it would be about the same viscosity os the original oil.

I looked on line for oil and found what was I think was a half pint. The cost with shipping was high enough that I did not order it.

Do you think red food coloring would stay mixed with my home brew of maono-oil? Of course I will have to buy red food coloring. I have little need for it in my cullinary preparations. Baking a frozen piza does not require red food coloring. :)

Yes,light and red. Is it a different viscosety than gauge oil ? I believe it is fairly close, and seem to remember someone else making mention of using it.

If your specific gravity of it is around .826, then it should work.
