The Immorality of the Left

The Immorality of the Left

PostBy: franco b On: Tue Jan 26, 2010 6:28 pm

Most of us have been brought up to believe in and accept Judeo-Christian morality.

Each of us when born receives a heritage of millions of years of evolution in our instincts governing behavior. In time the rules for leading a fulfilling and happy life were set down as The Ten Commandments. I believe these rules pre-existed in our genetic heritage along with others in those societies that managed to survive the rigors of stone age life. If true, then that society that violates them does so at its peril.

Among these rules are those that proscribe stealing and the coveting of your neighbors goods. The left in the name of fairness thinks it OK to steal from others. Not personally, but by empowering the state to do it for them.

But by far the greatest theft if the left is successful is that of opportunity.

It is no coincidence that the birth of the industrial revolution occurred in Britain, the, by far the freest state in Europe. How did Britain get that way? I think it was the longbow, and Britain needed it to maintain military supremacy over France. The catch was that an archer needed constant practice to attain the accuracy and strength needed to be deadly at 300 yards. So the populace had to be armed with a deadly weapon. The nobility walked and talked a great deal more softly in the knowledge that a deadly army could be assembled practically overnight. Minutemen.

When the industrial revolution hit a freer and more free wheeling state, America, it really took off. The little magic city of Waltham Mass. stood the country and the world on its ear. The result of freedom.

Look at the internet, free wheeling at its best. Imagine what will happen with the left in control. Even the turgid posts of stocking have worth. Imagine also what is possible in the future if opportunity is not stolen.

The left are the Luddites of the twenty first century, not by wrecking machinery, but by wrecking freedom and opportunity.

OK, I'll take the bait. I would *LOVE* for you to explain how a family using a teachable moment for the benefit of their family, to live below their means, to reach out and provide for the needy, AND BE OPPORTUNISTIC IN A GLOWING EXAMPLE OF AMERICAN ENTRERPENEURIALISM, is remotely socialism? Your response will be truly fascinating to me.

I would like to hear that also Millworker, the only part of what you said that bothers me is the live below their means, they choose to live within their means & to refocus their efforts in a more logical way. IMO having more house & in general lifestyle than what you need doesn`t make a person any happier it kind of just means that you allowed yourself to get caught up in the age old American trap of keeping up with the Jones`es.

"That is a socialistic mindset. Taking something away from the person who has worked hard and give it to someone that has been lazy, unwilling to work and give it to them. If the people who think this is such a wonderful story, they should move to Cuba and see how wonderful a country that's run on socialism is. A high percentage of rich people are rich for a reason. Because they busted their butts to get where they are."

That's a response to the article.

I have worked for unimaginably wealthy people. Even though they are so over the top and materialistic, I would never suggest that they should give up what they earned because somebody is homeless, or because there is disparity in society. By the way, I know they have family foundations and many generous charities they give to, which amount to more than you or I will make in a lifetime.

I just wince at the suggestion that the guy with the Mercedes should "have a little less" so the homeless guy can "have a little more".

When I think of Van Jones standing at a podium, frothing at the mouth, and screaming, "Give them the wealth, give them the wealth!!!!" , it makes me worry.

I have a young liberal friend, from time to time we attempt to discuss our differences. He says, "We all have to help each other." What he means is, "Somebody has to help me." He is working very hard to get through college. I'm currently trying to find a decent laptop for him. Are you going to help me find a laptop for him????

 If I halved the value of my house, I'd be living in a WM dumpster! Their aren't any houses available for half what I paid for mine! I'd be even more pissed off in general than I am now, & the homeless guy will still be homeless ..... I'd have to kick him out of the dumpster!

Liberal socialists are a strange breed that I cannot pretend to understand ....

If you read the story nobody took anything away from that family, what they did was of their own chooseing. What someone wants to do with their wealth is their own business. Just like dropping a buck in a salvation army bucket only on a larger scale.

actually, much of what was stated at the onset of this post could be applied to both the left and right. neither side holds the ethical, moral or economic "high ground". to brand the right evil makes the left so. so can be said for the left.

Are there any rat bastards on the right? You bet! Probably as many as on the left.

But it is the left that in their basic beliefs threaten our prosperity and freedom. You can't plan the chaotic confluence of events that lead to a fortuitous breakthrough in science or industry; you can only prepare the fertile ground of freedom that makes this possible. This is what the left will not do with their numbing ignorant insistence on control of things they do not understand.

I don't understand the term Rep. I do know that when the government set out to unravel the human genetic code it was a private company that showed the better faster cheaper way to do it.
