The apple I Pad was just introduced around 1pm today. It looks awesome. Its all touchscreen. I don't know the price or release date. it has a 10 inch screen only a half inch thick. 10 hour battery life, only 1.5 pounds. I think there are three versions 16, 32, and 64 gig.

some price and shipping updates:

11:20AM "We will be shipping these in 60 days. 3G models will ship in 90 days."

11:20AM "So $499 for 16GB of iPad. That's our base model. 32GB is $599, 64GB is $799. 3G models cost an extra $130. $629, 729, and 829 with 3G."

11:17AM "And the new iBooks application. You can carry literally thousands of books around. And the iWork suite of apps with the best UI we've ever seen for something like this."

11:17AM "WiFI plus 3G if you want it. So iPad. It's phenomenal. Email is fantastic, best device for photos, great for music, great for video. It runs almost all of the 140k apps on the app store, as well as a whole new generation of apps."

11:14AM "We have an unlimited plan for just $29.99 a month."

11:14AM "Now what does it cost for the data plans? Well in the US carriers charge about $60 a month. We have a real breakthrough. Two awesome plans for iPad owners. The first one gives you 250MB of data a month for $14.99."

11:13AM "Now I'd like to talk about wireless networking. Every iPad has WiFi... but we're also going to have models with 3G."

You do realize the original post is 2 years old.

I bought one for my wife six months after they came out. She never used a computer before and is not good with anything electronic only because she never tried.
She uses her iPad everyday since she opened the box.

Easy Ray, I was just reading the other comments too, I almost can't believe that there is one single person on this planet that doesn't know that the iPad has been out for some time now!!! I have had my iPad for awhile now and also use it daily along with my iPhone and iMac computer at home... Apple rules!!!

I have been a fan for quite some time, we just got one for my grandfather (grandchildren all contributed), and its been great, he's loading his old pictures on it, face timing his new great grand daughter (my daughter) etc. My grandfather never learned to use a PC, I don't know if I would have ever even seen these photos if we didn't get him an Ipad. Here are a couple he sent me from being stationed in Northern Japan during the Korean war. He is a very giving and honest person, lots of fun to be around, of the 100 or so he sent the one handing out chocolate to the Japanese kids is my favorite.

A little irony, these photos are on Kodak paper, the day he sent them to me they declared chapter 11.

The 2nd post is a type of scammer/spammer advertising other sites. They probably searched for certain Keywords and then posted what they did....and reactivated this old thread.....
