samhill, yup,we probably are just that,OLD,--I'll drag it back to the 60's & early 70's when tricky Dick took a fall for other peoples stupidity--and people like Abbey Hoffman & the Panthers & the Weatherman got the youth of this country so riled up, they tore this, not great but better then most, government apart. They also didn't have a back-up plan---Sooooo,here we are today--like I said before--the president is just a figurehead to the rich--BO's just a little to cockey for my taste--for the record,my wife & I already did our taxes & got our federal return back yesterday---same income as last yr.--my SSA & Momma's pay from the local school cafateria---we got a little less back this yr.--I also did not see anything about punishment for being married(other then being married itself)I can't say that,Momma's my buddy

IMO he`s the one that really put the screws to the average middle class family. I briefly looked up 2009 fed tax changes & as far as I could see without really digging into it the only changes helped me & I didn`t see anything about a tax penalty for a married couple. Maybe we are just way too many tax brackets apart for me to notice what your talking about, I don`t have to go very far at all to find mine(starting from the bottom).
