Best Coal Ever In The Harman

Not much air How much coal does larry have up there and how is the road going in

Looks like he had maybe 10 ton or so of nut and a bit less rice, road wasn't too bad but did need 4x4 muddy as all get out. Burnt my first load today holy crap that stuff does burn hot, needed less than half turn on damper.

Thanks was there today coal all gone except a little Rice Buck mix which is what I get do you like the big blue flames
like burning N.G. Road was fun nice and greasy had fun sliding around the turns

Been burning Little Buck since Friday and now I can give a better review. Coal was good and clean, a bit bigger than most nut that I burn but I like it better that way. 36 hour burn on one load with no shake down and no refuel in a Harman Mark II, stack temp at 90 and stove temp at 240 after the 36 hour mark, shook it down and reloaded with no fight to keep it going. I will not normally leave it go that long but did it as a trial. I am now a believer and I think it beats out Harmony (at least in my stove), once I fix my bin I will fill it with 4 ton.

I,m colt and live in Tuscola county Michigan.I'll be making my first coal run and picking up my coal burner in May 2010.I want to pick up 3 tons of stove or nut on the way back from RI.Can someone give me the contact information of the Harmon breaker.With over 1000 mile round trip I want to buy the best !

I just bought an AHS S130 boiler, I was going to burn Blaschak since thats what my dad burns in his Hitzer 50-93, but it sounds to me like little buck and UAE is even better. little buck is in pine grove, and UAE in Mount carmel, anyone know how much each of these charge for a ton picked up at the breaker ?

uae is 150 a ton, dont know about the other

Little Buck is very small, most of what they mine is sold to their regular customers immediately. Also, all their processing equipment is outdoors, so operation depends on the weather. If you are traveling a long distance, Harmony is your best bet.

i am only about 45min from either place.... I live in Carbon County, Lehighton PA near Beltzville Lake.

is the 2ton limit a limit of your own or a limit of UAE ?

i recently switched to uae.......i had been using superior since jc showed me the light a few yrs ago, and the superior was good till recently......the last few loads had so much ash in them that i had to dump my ash tubs 2x a day and the heat output was not very good.

the uae is hot hot hot! burning real well in the efm, well in the alaska too, but i'm getting ash cakes in the ash pan, which is not a huge deal.

No limit on coal what cArNaGe was talking about was 1.5 years ago they had a limit on the coal you could buy per day it was 2 tons Reason they had problems with production do to equipment failure slowed down production .
Now they are running full bore you can buy as much as you can haul their mining 350 to 400 tons per day .

It is red ash it will clinker if you give it to much air back the air down a little

Disagree with you on that it beats Harmony mine coal Larry's coal is good but not that good It does not have the btu's that harmony has and it produces a lot of fly ash The ash content is higher as well Harmony is 6.5 % very little fly ash Larry's is 7.5 to 8% with a lot of fly ash he was in the middle split vein Now he is hitting the buck vein and the 7 footer veins
he is still digging around looking to sink another hole Harmony is always in the Lykens # 2 Vein .

You will have to clean out the stove and pipe more if you burn a lot of Larry's coal but for the price per ton can't beat it .
