The nut coal from UAE Harmony I picked up a few weeks ago for the Mark I is absolutely the best I have ever burned in it. Usually every day or so I have to poke up through the grates after shaking and loosen up the ash, maybe even fish for clinkers. Since starting on this load I have done nothing but shake down the ash and reload, no poking, no problems. The fresh coal takes off like mad. Just amazing.

Thanks to JC, without his advice I would still be "burning" slate and refuse.

In order of quality, best to worse:

UAE Harmony-excellent.
Little Buck-excellent.
Superior-excellent.
Calvin V. Lenig-excellent.
Blaschak, tied with Kimmel's-usually consistent, good quality.
Reading-hit or miss.
Several unknown brands of coal from various places: People's in East Stroudsburg, Rabel's (Mid-Valley) in Dickson City, etc. Fair quality.
Worse coal ever was from Fairclough Fuel in Hampton.-unburnable. They sell Reading bagged now, this may have changed, prices are too high.

I have had UAE Harmony before, it is always outstanding, but this is great stuff. Can you tell there's a pattern here? Hint: Deep holes in the ground.

No two ton limit that was last year when they where having Problems with the vein slopping piching off in one area could not use the continuous miner slowed down production Now up to full production no limit on coal .150 a ton

Call them ask them if they have any dealers out your way or order 22 or 25 tons from them they have Trucking Co. that haul from them or send in your own trucker to pick it up for you Just let them know how much and when .150 a ton Picked up you might get a discount depending on how much you order.

I am on UAE right now too, picked up a ton three weeks ago. I like the fact the nut is good sized and not mixed with pea such as the other miner sells. I think, less ash too but I haven't been paying real close attention as I am away here and there. The heat seems about the same, me thinks.

Looks like I'm headed down there for a few runs this spring/summer. My bin is full of Hudson.
Of course Hudson is a 5 minute drive from my son's house so thats why I go there.
