Man-O-Man.... this is a biggie coming, huh? Well, not for us up north, but all over the news it's as if 30" of snow for everyone south of the 45th parallel is a fact. I hope it turns out like the 4-6" predicted for us on Thursday....we got zero! Seems a good day to have a hot breakfast & some good strong coffee, so, step right up & load your own plate. Eggs any style, 6 week muffins, bacon, sausage toast, and home fries are waiting. Ya know...we ought to open a can of beans too. Ahhhh, good stuff.
The Axeman Anderson is finally happy. It's been zero or just below every day this week, and barely up to 20 in the sun of the day. Certainly have used more fuel this week than any week all winter. Sure is nice in the house though. We've never been so comfy. My buddy Andrew has the snags out of his AA and is running it 24/7 now. He's acquired a few ton of black gold and is starting to fill his bin. I'll bet it would hold 15 ton if filled to the top! I'll also bet that house could burn it!!
I'll be in the garage welding if you need me. That aluminum is tricky to weld, but I'm slowly getting better at it.
Be careful out there, use your head, and take breaks now & then when fighting old man winter.

West end of Schuylkill county; looks like we have close to a foot, I’ll go check after breakfast. Weather man said 2-4 at first but later went to 4-8 and it looks like we went over. Go north to Scranton and they got nothin’ according to the TV. Clean up and then stay inside is the plan for today.

They said Baltimore was snowing 3" per Hour!

Pittsburgh supposedly has like 15" so far.

Here in South WNY (NY/PA Border) Nothing.

I thought I would just drop in and say hi. Here in Pike County as of yet we haven't seen the first flake. But a couple of counties south of us are getting hammered. I guess I am a snow jinx-every where I go it always snows somewhere else. I was hoping for a big one since I don't have to work this weekend. Anyway, I just got my taxes done! Whew!! The computer is downstairs here in the basement next to my Fabulous Glenwood Baseburner and all is toasty. I have maybe two tons left in my pile of coal. I might make it to Spring or I might just spend my tax refund on a couple years worth. I don't know-decisions, decisions. Well, thanks for the coffee and maybe we can get some snow when the next one rolls around.

Just took a measure. we've got 20" now and it's supposed to snow until 10:00 pm. This looks like the big one. At the rate it's snowing now, we could well get close to 30-36". I'll post some pics later.

Good Morning List,
Not much snow here in western Northampton Co. Maybe 3" or 4". Keep that stuff away! Now what to do? Maybe more vehicle maintenence? Performed the ATF service last week on my Jeep, dropped the pan, changed the filter. Getting too old to do this stuff on my back but needs to get done. I would like to go the the Auto Show in Philly by way of R5 train out of Lansdale, PA but that's even a 45 mile drive one way. But the coffee is good!

Ok, I'll bite - what are 6 week muffins? Sounds like they could be more dental bills to me. The sun's coming up on a winter wonderland here. The snow is continuing to fall at an amazing rate with the worst of it expected to fall between 10 and 4. We have about 18 inches on the ground - that's in addition to the stuff left over from Christmas and what we got Tuesday. I remember someone last year from up north reporting the snow as "A$$ high to an Indian." We are about to that point. We have yet to see a plow so we aren't going any place. Sadly, I doubt I will be able to wiggle out of cleaning the house today; boredom often drives you to extreme measures. :) I'm happy to report that the Harman just keeps humming along with no problem keeping us warm and toasty. Be safe and have a great weekend! Take care, Lisa

Well,Well,Well......

The Weather Critters may have finally gotten one mostly right......Up here in NE Ohio I'm sitting on 6 to 8 inches with drifting expected to commence. We missed it as they said we would. South of us,all bets are off. Just ground up the 8 O'clock beans and made my own before sharing a cup here with you fellow Coalites. Freddy, glad to hear you and your friends' AA's are humming along. And Thanx to everyone else this a.m. for sharing the news, camaraderie, coffee and warmth. As Always,Take Care,Gang! Hambden Bob

Not too much here in the county seat of Warren County. Maybe 2". It started about 2210 last night so it's been a gentel snow so far. We're on the northern tip of it. Enjoy the day!

SE Michigan is still in a drought. I have grass and building refuse sticking up through the dusting of snow on the ground. This year has been a real disappointment for the snowmobilers and snowplowing folks.. Adding more economic misery to the area.

It's about 15* now, and windy.. overcast with an ocassional flurry or two. Lat week was warm, temps in the low 30's. The AA260 was only making a minimal amount of ash, with the heat demand. I do believe I'll burn less coal next season with the nes tight, well insulated living spaces.

Well I have a list to accomplish before I head to the airport, I hope the JFK and LGA airports say open and Delta/NWA don't cancel their flights 'cause of a few inches of snow.. Right now, JFK is just windy and very light snow, only 1" total so far. Forcast for maybe 4"

Yes.. what are 6 week muffins?? I'll bet they are the ones forgotten till they HAVE to be dunked in coffee to be edible?

I guess all the snowmobiles from here will be headed south to see you guys. 10 degrees, light winds, partly cloudy here.
Hard to believe 30" in the DC area. PA and Jersey are used to a big storm, but this is a killer! Thank Gawd it is on a weekend. I noticed many flights canceled from the North East. For once we feel lucky, however we would welcome a huge snow event....just like Vancouver! I noticed a convoy of trucks hauling snow into the Olympic event slopes......crazy winter! It was 41 out there yesterday.
I'm at a loss on the six week muffin thing also. What gives? Fess up, Freddy!
(they sure would be freezer burned, if stored that way.....out on the counter...no so good.)
We want answers...please.  :D

PS: Be a nice person and check in on your neighbors and friends to make sure everyone is OK during this snow event.

Well well in the wee corner of pike county and middle of monroe county we got a whopping 1 maybe 2 inch's really not enough to do anything with. gonna try the leaf-blower automatic shovel method first.....

Hey freddy. with the right flow of 100% Argon its pretty fun to do aluminum...

one can go broke between the tri mix and argon and co2 mix.......oxy acetelene.....propane...butane.....

maybe a huff of nos first will make a laughing matter of it all!!!
