I have a chubby stove with a problem. The grate gets very hard to shake when the stove gets hot. I ground the backside smooth. It helped a little. Is this normal for this stove? Anyone have a fix for this? Other than that, I like the stove.
Thanx,

**Broken Link(s) Removed**Look under parts and accessories. They sell upgraded fire-pots that are said to shake like the grate is rolling on ball-bearings.

pete I got the exact samer issue with my chubby. The grate has been burned hard and hot by the prev owner and it is kinds convex bent downward in the middle.

Im gonna have to buy a new on e from larry for $90 bucks. Goto the chubby store and email larry - don;t buy from his online store at ebay cause you'll pay shipping
buy from larry direct. and save some $

Also - email Larry a pic of your grate - if its the pre 1980 one peice then you can get the new design

if yous is the new design then your either your circle ring is warped or your stove's grate rim is warped. The latter is bad news.

talk to Larry asap

Not a problem and easy enought to fix. Start by looking at the grate for small cracks when the stove is out. If you find any these will expand when the stove is hot and will cause it to stick. That grate is likely the original 30 year old grate and might need to be replaced. Feel free to call or email me and I will walk you through the system repair and get you up and running.
