magnum ash door tile

i was thinking about adding the decorative tile to my ash door.
is it just 6x6 tile or some other size
i see the ash door has the gasket material around but the tile cover(4 screws) does not have any sealing areas.

any help would be appreciated,

You have 2 choices for the tile on your Magnum. You can pay the $80 dollars for the decorative tile from your Harman stove dealer or you can go do Lowe's or Home Depot and pick out tile that will fit the 6inch by 18 inch hole. I went both routes for my Magnum. I have the Mallard pattern tile from the stove dealer and I also went to Home Depot and had them cut a piece of slate fit the opening. The best part about the piece from Home Depot is that it's one long piece and it only cost about $3.00. The store will cut the tile-marble-slate, or whatever for free. I can now alternate between the two different styles in my stove.

when you purchased thhe tile from harman how did/does it fit.
i see you can remove 4 screw in each corner and does it getsnadwiched between the coacer and the door.
is there a gasket between them??.

When you open the ashpan door there are 4 screws (which you spoke about) that attach a metal insert onto the ashpan door. When you remove those screws the metal insert will be able to be removed and used later in the process. Next install your 6 by 6 tiles by resting them on a small lip on the inside of the ashpan door. I had my wife help me ballance the 3 tiles in place while I took the metal insert and installed it back onto the door. When you go to re-install the metall insert flip it arount so the black spray painted portion of the insert, that used to appear on the outside of the ashpan door will now be facing inward toward your ashpan. Once the screws are tightened on the metal insert they will snug the tile againsts the metal frame of the ashpan door. Harman does not supply any gasket for the tile kit.
