IIRC, She resigned after the election, not before.

So! You admit there was a time you had respect for her!

Excellent answer. I have no comeback to that.
However, I did some 8th grade research and came up with some information that gives a reason to respect her decision. It's all subjective.

I'm still undecided on Palin BUT I see posts here asking what specific propsoals she has on a bunch of different topics. The LACK of specificity does NOT bother me of any candidate. I'm much more interested in how they view the big principals. The rest will follow. A president is not supposed to be the all knowing on every topic. That's why they have advisors. THEY are supposed to guide policy based on general principles AND STICK BY THOSE PRINCIPLES! The rest will follow. These principles have guided this country since its inception and aren't too complicated:

Bigger government is NOT better
Governments main priority is to protect our citizens from foreign forces
Accountability
People should be self reliant
government is a necessary evil, not the answer to everything
Holding political office should be a way of paying back for what this country has given you, it should NOT be a lifelong career.
Your only "inalienable rights" are life, liberty, and the PURSUIT of happiness, NOT social security, medical insurrance, medicaid, etc etc. Also you're not guaranteed happiness, just the right to pursue it!

Radical thoughts, I know!!

you hit the nail on the head with the principles our country should be following now. what a better place this would be if we could only follow those simple rules

I'm still undecided on my physician BUT people ask what specific proposals he has on my gangrene, high blood pressure, and pneumonia. LACK of specificity does NOT bother me of any doctor. I'm much more interested in how he views the big principles (bleeding with leeches, laying on of hands, psychic surgery, Christian Science). The rest will follow. A doctor is not supposed to be all knowing on every topic. In fact I don't ask that my doctor be knowing about ANY topic at all. That's why he has advisers. THEY are supposed to guide medical treatment based on general principles AND STICK BY THOSE PRINCIPLES! The rest will follow.

Nor do I ask that my attorney, my accountant, my mechanic, or the guy who shingles my roof, have any specific knowledge. All they need is advisers, whom they will choose without having any knowledge. The rest, alas, will follow.

They do. Leeches work well in limb reattachment surgery.

Is there something about that you doubt?

This inarticulate analogy falls so far short it doesn't deserve further comment so I won't.........
