I think you have a dent...

I agree. I don't think I'd worry about it too much ... so long as the heat exchanger inside isn't damaged in any way. I'd bring it to the company's attention though, that their shipper was a little rough in handling ... maybe even notify the shipper also. But I wouldn't worry about it.

Maybe they will improve their shipping practices with your info.

Just a little dent. Cosmetic damage. It should work fine. Maybe you can get a little money back. :)

I'll give you $50.00 for it but you're gonna have to pack it and ship it without any damage. :D
Always learning, still stupid though :D

Shipping issue. Sucks since it is a brand new unit. I think the core will be fine, but test it before you call the shipping company. They will make some sort of deal, hopefully one you can agree to.

I spoke to the company (very good to deal with), they would send a new one and have ups pick up the old unit no charge to me. Or they would give me a discount and possably a claim from ups. I paid $560 for the thing, at that price I should have a perfect heater. If I have a fair discount I will fix and live with it. I am waiting for ups to have a look.

I should recieve a check from ups unless denied and a discount from the supplier, for the damaged heater. Brings my cost to $338, I can deal with the dent/ fix ok. The supplier would of sold the damaged unit on ebay ( would it bring $338, I think that is it's value) so it's a fair settlement. This settlement seems fair to all, I'm ok with it.

well congrats!!! thats quite a discount for a somewhat small dent. I totally agree that for over 5 beans it should be perfect, but concidering the situation, savin almost 2 hun.... a no brainer!

hey maybe after you installed it you might of wacked it with a 2x4 or somethin so??? 8-)

Mine looks just like it, except my dent is in the center along the bottom. If you paid full list then complain. If you got a fair deal, enjoy the heat as I did. The Keystoker 90 at the foot of the stairs is now providing all the heat I need for the house 2200sq. ft. and the one car garage, when I leave the door open to the basement from the garage. Modine's can pump some heat!

I managed to get the dent out fairly well and discovered I could turn the coil 180 deg. so the outlets are on the left. I asked about this when I ordered the heater and they said NO. All I had to do was reverse the louvers. I am happy with her, now I need to sweet the pipe from the floor, repair the drywall and a couple of wires and I'll have a warm garage. :D Also, I found packing peanuts inside the heater and their were none in the box it was in, the second box had some. I figure this unit was returned in the past. Either modine or the distributer passed it along ??? GO FIGURE :no1:
