Hi ya fellas, I'm looking for a ground eating monster something that tears up the turf, new and stands out. See I bought this nice house on a corner lot. the knuckle head that had the house before would let anybody and anyone drive right over the 3 acres, and I'm not talking just snowmobiles, so anyway. I asked nice to stop coming on the property, didn't work. So I started calling the cops, well that made the cars and trucks stay off but still had snowmobiles come through the yard. So went and talked to the owners of all the snowmobile shops, the local snowmobile club, and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Well they came over planted some signs that said no snowmobiles, all well and good. During this time I found out that the the snowmobiles have access to the right-of-way of the street so by law they can drive on 15ft of the property, in this 15ft of right-of-way you can not put any obstructions of any kind except mail boxes any thing else and the road commission will come out and take it out and bill you. So after all else has failed I figure I might as well join the party and start riding my ass off all night since, well what the hell, what are good neighbors for, lol.
So if ya have a suggestion on what to buy to run around and make some tracks let me know :)

I just went to the local dealer who also happens to be head of the local snowmobile club and gets the grants for the snowmobile trails from the state of Michigan (Can you believe it the state of Michigan gives grants out so people can ride snowmobiles on a prepared course of over a hundred miles here with the economy of Michigan the way it is, damn!) Anyway he wouldn't sell me a sled and I had cash In hand it was a 1200 Ski-doo...10 grand just over 500 lbs should of been able to leave a mark

If you want speed, go with the 2-stroke. 4-strokes will still haul ass, but 2-strokes are easier to modify (and respond to modifications much better), they're lighter, easier to start, more horsepower for a given size, plus, cheaper to tune up, or rebuild. It's a win-win.

The club has to get permission every year from ALL the landowners to go across your property. You can say no, but like you said, they will go on the street if they have to.

We have tons of trails here in NY and the state does pay the clubs to maintain, they have a TON of money to help the clubs out for grooming, etc....you registration, club dues, etc... all help keep them working! We snowmobiled for quite a few years, we sold them a few years ago. Too many other things going on.
