There's a solution to those kinds of shenanigans (I'm guessing he got the idea from Ahnold who did the same in CA last year). Adjust your withholdings so that at the end of the year you aren't due a refund. If you do it right, you are better off owing a couple of hundred instead of giving the govt an interest free loan over the course of the year. Tax refunds are nice - a bigger paycheck every week is nicer.
