Older Hyfire

Hello All,

I have an older hyfire that is going to need a new stoker motor. Does anyone know what motor has replaced the Brevel 715? This is for a tri-burner unit.

I found few other motors to fit, but none better than the brevel, it tends to be on the high price side, but it seems to be worth it, my first one had the gears stripped due a jammed carpet, but I have made a modification incorporating a ball bearing attachment, with a U joint to to prevent that from happening again, I am in the process of figuring out whether it could be manufactured in an efficient way. The mechanism is being looked at by a major stove company, I also have the feed rate controller for a Tri-Burner allowing the use of any thermostat to be hooked up.

I think design on my Hyfire is much simpler. Mine has never jammed and haven't had a problem with it. Just a simple plate with a slot for the stoker motor/bearing to push back and forth and the threaded plate that the bearing sits on, I think is threaded backwards, so if it does jam, it just comes unscrewed.

The guys from LL can probably get you setup with something.

Your local LL dealer will have the current model of Gleason Avery 1.5 RPM with the threaded output shaft. Torque and form factor are matched to your stove even though you have the older Tri-Burner stoker. If the dealer does not have it in stock, he or she can order it from us, we have them in stock.

George, YUP! That's what mine looks like, other than I have the feed plate adjusted to max and not connected to the knobs, since I have the Coaltrol on it now.

your best bet is to contact Dave from Leisure line , there is nothing better, he'll find the best solution for you !

Tri-burners usually refer to a different stoker mechanism, Sorry about the confusion .

Thanks for all the help. I'll call the shop up in Drums to see if they have the part. I just put the 40k side motor on it and it is running fine. Will they ship parts out of the store?

I bought this stove over the summer from a guy who just wanted to get rid of it. I cleaned it up and made a trip up to the Drums store and had a good talk with Jerry. This guy is great! He gave me great advice on upgrades to the stove and how to use it more efficiently. I bought a coaltrol unit and hooked it up last week and I'm very happy with the results. This thing puts out allot of heat with just the 70k burner.

Great product and excellent service.

Yes it can be shipped from the store, or shipped by us directly after you pay Jerry. Just make sure you get a hold of him by Friday, he will be gone for the next month after that (he earned a nice time in Sunny Florida, don't you think? :lol:

).

If you don't get it worked out by the time Jerry leaves, just PM us and we will make arrangements for you to get your feeder motor.

Just a quick update. I called Karen last Thursday for the motor and she had it in the mail that day. I got it Friday and had both burners going that night. I didn't really need both, but fun to see what it could do.
