Outlook Express

Outlook Express

PostBy: Sting On: Thu Feb 25, 2010 3:16 pm

How can I recover the password that is under the ****** on an outlook express account on a machine in my office.
I don't really want to reset the password on the mail server because I am not sure that I will be able to reset it on the PC

Do I need to down load an executable tool or can it be found in a hidden file?

Kind Regards

Have you tried that program Bob?

I loaded it onto my new HP mini PC on my home network, because the fire wall at my office wouldn't allow it

and it killed the mini PC

Ill have to re-image the HP tomorrow :x

Sting, why can't you just reset the password on the server side then delete/recreate the account in OE?

I am using an older version on OE -- and have had drama in the past changing the saved password -- so my choice this time was to recover the forgotten password -- its been a while -- from the PC that I use all the time -- and have it for my new hp mini laptop that I can use to access the mail server directly for read only.

Certainly I could migrate to something like Thornbird on both machines and then easily use the reset password - but then I have to export the saves files and adopt to a new format--- one drama or another
