Harmon or Kodiak?

Well the other alternative would be to install one of those fans that go into the stack. You turn it on on the initial start up it creates its own draft till it gets warm and then you shut it off. I have seen these in northern tools catalouge. The other thing is to the next adjacent roof line on the house is seven feet away too. I wonder if thats another reason for the backdraft sometimes. Otherwise after a couple of minutes it warms up and its fine.

so chopper.....which stove did you end up buying?

I went with the Harman markII. I bought it at the end of march and got to use it for a couple of weeks. I am real pleased with it and had no trouble really burning coal for the first time. I have picked up about 4 tons of pea coal from random people I have found on craigslist that were giving it away for nothing. All of the coal I have a bagged into 70 pound bags and have them stacked on four pallets. Its a lot of work but it is worth it I think, it saved me a few trips to Pa Im sure, and Im not paying the going rate for coal here on L.I. Cant wait for that first cold snap!
