Now, tracking us with cell-phone triangulation without a court order, that bothers me. I wonder, if the cops want to put a tail on you, does THAT require a court order? It's much the same thing, just a different method being used....
Then there is the controversy about license-plate-reading cameras. Installed around the city, they can easily compile a database of who drives where, and when. Police say the cameras will only be used for "legitimate" purposes, and I'm sure there are many legitimate purposes. But being trackable so easily also bothers me. By the way, for you ACLU bashers, it is the state chapter of the ACLU that is raising objections to uncontrolled use of the cameras here.
