My statement was 100% fact:

Under Regan, we had a new class of people form: Yuppies. They had money.

Under Barry, we have unemployment & social services.

Which one looks better to the average Joe?

Do you really honestly believe that this all came about the day that Barry took office? That the economy of our country was fundamentally sound like we were told over & over again.

"My belief has always been … that wherever in this land any individual’s constitutional rights are being unjustly denied, it is the obligation of the federal government—at point of bayonet if necessary—to restore that individual’s constitutional rights - Ronald Reagan, Press conference 17 May 83"

Like I don`t already know that, so what. What does this all have to do with a discussion about politics & our country?

It's got to do with the fact that you have an amazing talent to piss people off. You will dig through information like a groundhog to to prove your left-leaning liberal holier- than- thou points.
Why don't you go have lunch with Van Jones, he's an avowed commie I'm sure you'll have a lot to talk about.

Please stay on topic. I feel Ronald Reagan was ahead of his time as evidenced by this recording. The discussion is about what Reagan said in 1961 and how it relates to Obama's health care plan today. Is government-run healthcare a violation of our constitutional rights?

sorry about getting off topic, I`ll just ask if its ok that if you take away all the scare tatics & misleading info. from both sides how is H.C. going to or even threaten to take away any of anyones constitutional rights? Better yet if we don`t get any plan & things stand the way they are, how long until H.C. bankrupts the country.

Once again I`m sorry if I offended anyone, I just always felt that if everyone is of like mind there is no need for discussion. So I`ll just leave it at that.

My question is, if we DO get UHC, how long will it be before it bankrupts the country?

You guys are looking at all the pie in the sky upside to UHC. I still haven't heard how this is magically going to drive down costs. Because the government has a long storied record of driving down costs in the Post Office, Amtrak, social services, military spending, etc, etc.

When does BHO sprinkle the fairy dust and magically reverse nearly 250 years of empirical evidence?

Samhill, you're like a battered woman, you just don't listen.
The current administrations Euro-socialist attempts to increase big government, cede US sovereignty, placate belligerent nations with bow-downs and arrogant and destructive desire to control every aspect of Americans private lives is a start. Your hero Geitner stated he's open to a world currency.
When government mandates that I have to pay a fine to not have health insurance, so the millions of deadbeats in this country can absorb entitlements, I feel that's a violation of my Constitutional rights.
Why do I bother to opine on deaf ears such as yours? You'll just deny, obfuscate, or retaliate without even considering the information beyond how you can feel important by proving conservatives wrong. We do have something in common, however, neither one of has the sense to avoid discussing politics!
What's the difference? This country has been deindustrialized! Your messiah wants to keep pouring paper money on the problem and sooth the masses with imaginary bullet trains and massive entitlements. We export more than we import and make bad deals with foreign economies. There's no representation of us common citizens in Washington, the ultra powerful and ultra greedy are ready to jump ship in golden helicopters, and you think we're all gonna be one big happy family.
There are those of us that admire and venerate Ronald Reagan, you slap us in the face about it, then act astonished when we retaliate. Then you apologize and look for the next set-up to emphasize the liberal moral high ground.

Dann, hopefully this is considered to still be on topic, I do listen even if you believe not. The point I have been trying to make is that everything you have just pointed out IMO did not happen a little over a year ago. I won`t even get into when I believe it took a huge jump forward for fear of being sent to purgatory. There are a lot of us that disagree with what has been done but I have yet to hear a rational thought out alternative(by that I mean the consequences of that action). As I often have said its easy to criticize & offer no correct action.

I do not disagree that all this was coming before Obama. I do not defend greedy politicians left or right. There's evidence and arguements that this forced socialized medicine is unconstitutional. I don't have irrefutable facts for you to deny at this time.
I don't understand why healthcare reform takes precedence over the unemployment issue. I think a good leader brings the people together. Aren't you out there in NEPA? It's hard to understand why you're so left-leaning.
