i just picked up the square floor sander from lowes about 30 min ago and did a test spot and it seems to work pretty good. altough I must of missed a staple and already damaged a peice of sandpaper :(

from what I can tell from my sample area is that the floors wont look perfect because of the way the house has settled over the years. some boards are pretty uneven. and I don't know if ill get all of the dark spots out, but we like what we see so far. we wet down the sample area and it looks pretty good to us

Just figure that is what some would call character. Heck, some will take a new piece of furnature, smash with a chain, drill worm holes to get an old look, that is in style. I myself like the look of an old corner cuboard with wavey glass over any new piece of furnature. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

God does perfect--sometimes we humans over-rate our abilities--sooooo,you're bringing out the natural look of the wood--OUTSTANDING :)I love how it's turned out--give it plenty of drying time!! old houses have old floors & I find them beautious :)you guys can be real proud

she is more like the evil tyrant supervisor. She is always demanding I do this or do that and do it now and get it done fast. She had me drill the holes for the door pulls right after I got done vacuuming the floor for the second time right before I wanted to start to put the poly on. Needless to say I had to vacuum again ..

The plumber came and hooked up the sink this morning. Right now we are slowly putting away all of the stuff we took out of the old cabinets and putting them in the new cabs. I still have to put another coat or two of poly on the floors yet. I will put another coat of poly on this evening once we are done putting things away.
