I would not have believed this until I read what he wrote - and read his own admissions.

No wonder America is illiterate.

Ya know, the guys got a weakness and shouldn't be in the position he's in. He should be removed. BUT, the real problem is who the hell hired him? That's where the the change should be made.
I can't blame a guy for going for the best position he can get but I have no sympathy for the clowns that are so incompetent as to have made a decision to put this guy in a position as an educational "leader". That's where the real housecleaning needs to be.

"Rarely is the question asked, is our children learning?"

You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test.

To those of you who received honors, awards and distinctions, I say well done. And to the C students, I say: You, too, can be president of the United States.

I'll NEVER figure out how some people can get into positions of power! :P

Maybe it has to do with no child left behind, & sometimes people get to where they are because of who they know not what they know.

The Peter Principle is the principle that "In a Hierarchy Every Employee Tends to Rise to His Level of Incompetence."

Or, my personal favorite.

The Dilbert Principle refers to a 1990s satirical observation by Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams stating that companies tend to systematically promote their least-competent employees to management (generally middle management), in order to limit the amount of damage they're capable of doing. In the Dilbert strip of February 5, 1995 Dogbert says that “leadership is nature's way of removing morons from the productive flow.”

Jpete,
I'm not wearing panties. However, I am apologizing for my knee-jerk reaction. I'm spending too much time worrying about politics and the demise of the USA. I know Bush was an embarrasment in the public speaking department. I felt that he loved the USA. I'm trying to hang on to a great leader where there wasn't one, I guess.
You have me seriously outclassed.
It would do me good to learn more about Ron Paul, Judge Napolitano, Peter Schiff, Rand Paul, And Ludwig von Mises ( I should pick up a copy of Socialism: An Economic and Sociological Analysis). It's obvious that Freidrich August von Hayek earned his Nobel Prize in 1974.
I guess political discussions and analysis have been going on since the inception of this country. Technology has made it possible for me to embarass myself with the click of a mouse.

That's how we all learn Dan. I'm only about 3 years into my "awakening". Luckily, I have a job that affords me plenty of time to read. I do a fair amount.

You could always poke around www.mises.org

Lots of good stuff there. Good books at the store. Don't be afraid to start basic. I got "Whatever Happened to Penny Candy". It was written for junior high school age kids and I got it for my boys when they get that age but I found it very informative for me! :)

This man should be the real poster boy of the Marxist/Socialist/Liberal Front. He is only the symptom of what a dumbdown and a policy of entitlement can accomplish. The parents of the children under this man's control will accept this and take this and nothing will change for the Detroit School Board,or the City Of Detroit. The shame is that the Human Cattle involved here, the kids, get to be condemned into this cyclical mess because Whatever Type of "Family Unit" they have at home is most likely stuck in Detroit with these cuckoos.
