I see your governor is already getting hammered by libs ...

Same thing used to happen here in MA when Romney was governor -- the house & senate would screw up royally (as usual), then blame it on the Republican governor. This state elects governors just to have someone else to blame. Nobody ever blames the liberal majority in the house & senate! Some things never change ...

Everybody got tired of "Crash" Corzine. Of course the libs and handout seekers are running scared.

When he's done with NJ, let's get him over to Pa for a few years.

Beyond a doubt, things need to be changed in NJ. I can't say that I like his style but the ends meets the needs. It will be a very interesting four year. Especially if he plays the Dem run legislature into that villain costume he's holding open for them. He cut his teeth as a freeholder by using this style a little too harsh and then the Repubs avoided him. Time will tell if he's polished this technique up a bit. As US Attorney he deftly used the media instead of quietly filing notices to arouse a great deal of coverage, just like he's doing as Gov. Into the fray!

I doubt that NJ would be in the current situation if Florio and especially Whitman had not borrowed big bucks against the future and stayed within the means at that time. Thant's when it started to get swept under the rug and every other Gov up to now played along. What's with the Homestead Rebate farce; make me pay extra, build another bureaucracy just to give me the remainder of my money back in a check. I'm supposed to really like that pol. I can't believe people fall for that crap over and over. Nothing but a political slush fund IMO.

I attended the commencement speech Gov. C gave yesterday when my daughter graduated from Monmouth U. He was greeted with a combination of clapping and loud "BOOO"s when given the podium to give the speech and receive an honorary Dr. of Law degree. In typical fashion, he took it well by acknowledging his detractors but said there's a time and place for everything and now he's here to give the commencement speech. He proceeded with a great speech - Thanks Gov! Some students protested silently by standing and presenting their backs to the podium, others cried out their protests. Generally the students were gracious, some loudly supporting the protests when they were within good taste and putting down those that were profane. The Gov has a set, no doubt!

A lot of kids have had their life handed to them and haven't been taught the meaning of hard work. They love the idea of a nanny state and think it's cool to be liberals. They think the world owes them a living.

True many times but usually loud and visible. A lot of kids just buckle down and get it done. I was lucky, both my kids got up at 4:30 to work farm markets - I had to drive them there so I don't forget! Yesterday, when some protesters whined and cursed, the other students put them down quickly. It could have been a lot worse but it this case it was a small majority regulated by the majority.

Lets see what happens at the protest in Trenton tomorrow. I'm wondering if they can match the construction worker protests of the seventies.

From the St. Police estimate, it appears the size of the protest yesterday in Trenton by the various unions surpassed the mid 70's protest by 50 to 75%. Their number was 30 -35,000 attendees. I think the construction workers numbered in the 20k-s back in the mid 70's. The Gov wasn't there to whiteness it. He was at a bill signing at Monmouth Park that shortened the horse racing season for this year and solidified the park as the sole provider for horse racing for this season. If I recall correctly(I'm not a horse racing fan), this facility has been economical floundering lately so this is essentially a stab a keeping some jobs for the horse industry in NJ.

Horse people vs. public workers: income vs. expense or donations vs. payback?
