EFM 520 Install With Skid/Bulk Bags Feed

Coal Stoker,

That is a good price on bags. The 40 x 40 x 48 duffle top/solid bottom should work well.

The duffle top is nice because you can overfill into the duffle top if you want to.

If you want to get the last bit of coal out of the bag, you collapse the bag to 2 ft tall, then roll down the duffle top like a turtleneck and hoe the coal to the middle. You can pretend you are Japanese Zen gardening.

The following is how I store the EFM for the summer after cleaning it. This keeps the humidity down. Thanks to McGiever (I think) for the Peet Safe heater idea. It puts out more heat than a light bulb with less energy consumed.

You need 4 items,
1. Aluminum foil
2. Duct tape
3. Peet dryer
4. Large bucket of DampRid desiccant

Seal off air by taping over the combustion air inlet holes and the peep hole in the E of EFM.

The last item is for people like me with sometimers disease. Put a note to remind yourself to take the tape off the combustion air inlet next fall.

Looks like a good way to stave off the effects of moisture on the fly ash.
Where did you get the heater, I like the simple way of sealing the burn chamber.
keep it simple is the best way sometimes.

So true. :D

Like to look at situations as doing them smarter instead of doing them harder.
Plenty of doing harder we don't have our own control over...being smarter along with being lazier, I 'll take that everytime. given the choice. ;)

Short-cuts do not equal smarter 99.9% of the time.
