On Thin Ice

With little to do and few jobs for those who are out of work, car enthusiasts in rural New Hampshire race for fun on a frozen pond without corporate sponsors or pit crews. This is "poor man's racing."

Ok ....... is this supposed to rile us up??? Not sure I really understand how this relates to your title. America has just been shot in the ass, & you claim victory??? You are a strange being, TVB...

So ... these are bad people? Is that the point? Their hurting sea kittens by running motors over ice? They frighten you? They make your fellow left wing whack jobs quiver with fear, because .. they remind you of the kids in school that stuffed you in a locker with your underwear over the back of your head? I'm trying to figure this out ... help me out here ...

Seeing as that it came from the NY times, a *censored* of morons that will rejoice in gay glee when America falls to 4th world status, this comes as no surprise. SO I believe I have answered my own questions. No further input necessary, thank you.

Steady Smitty....Steady......This in reality was a no response post. The largest trouble here is that it was posted in Freddy's Coffee House. This is a friendly Place run by one of the nicest guys in the Internet Coffee Business. It should have been either ignored or A Moderator should have moved it to some of the other combat areas where being a troll or Jousting is allowed. Your a Good Man,Smitty. Sad shame is that Freddy welcomes all here, and this nice person made the mistake of doing something rather inappropriate right by the Danish. This Board isn't a Democracy. The Mayor owns it,pays for it and maintains it. He's also made some decent rules. Both myself and tvb could be banned at any time. At least that's how this old coot sees' it. God Bless You All.

Good point ... I was thinking the same, but sometimes the liquor makes me act compulsively. Is it any wonder I drink so much, in light of what's happening to our beloved country? Sad sad times we live in. I think my grandparents had it better during the depression. WTF is happening .....

SORRY FREDDY!!!

The Liquor ? No,no way Smitty......I'm betting that rotten GMC Jimmy of yours hammed you up again. I'm telling you,you ought to name it "Christine" after the killer car in the movie by the same name. Freddy, order some new Danish, will ya'? I'm buying.

I would rather be racing on the ice in a car than a motorcycle...
They race all kinds of stuff on the ponds in the winter...
Seen a skidder going across the ice on 'Winnipesaukee...
Draggin' a long heavy chain with a 55 gallon drum for a bobber...
The butcher the piggies and lambs go to is pretty close...
I might just have to stop by...

Ice racing in the "Live Free or Die" state ain't got nuthin' to do with the economy or what the turds in D.C. do.

Unconscious assumptions or opinions are the worst enemy of woman; they can even grow into a positively demonic passion that exasperates and disgusts men, and does the woman herself the greatest injury by gradually smothering the charm and meaning of her femininity and driving it into the background. Such a development naturally ends in profound psychological disunion, in short, in a neurosis.
"Woman in Europe" (1927) In CW 10: Civilization in Transition. P.245
