Child Porn Laws

Just wondering if anyone knows why Catholic Priests aren`t held accountable for child porn like anyone else would be? It seems like they are dealt with by the church & what seems to be the norm simply moved to another area without anything else being done.

Christ's Sake ,Sam.....are you sure that yourself,tvb and stockingful aren't all working the same corner this week? I know you guys had the victory of a Lifetime,but do you take that much pleasure coming to this place knowing you're 'gonna shake the tree?? I'm a recovering Catholic,meaning I can't touch the stuff. They've gone too far with their Horse *censored* pulled in the name of The Church with me. So,trust me,I'm not their friend......

Amen-- biggest reason my parents went Episcopalian--they only have gay priests--what a deal Personaly,I think I'll stick w/ this spirituality thing

We are all drinking together this weekend

The Episcopalians have it right - their pastors or priests or whatever they call them can have sex with consenting adults and get married and you don't see them being accused of raping little kids. My dollar goes on the sex part and if the Catholic Church would loosen up on that celibacy foolishness, I bet they would see big chance in behavior in the rectories.

Wasn`t really my idea to bring it up, saw on the news that its now reaching all the way to the pope. But laws being laws it seems that a lot of these priests should be in prison (then again maybe not) but at least there wouldn`t be any children there. Why are they held to a different standard just because of the collar they wear?

I gotta tell 'ya,Sam.....I think most of us older folks have been raised to hold ourselves and others accountable for what we have done,both bad and good. In my book of Life,any Authority Figure that uses that authority to manipulate,grind and graft their way to a bad act would get it twice as hard. When you Lord over a Flock,you ought to get blasted. Child Porn and Molestation has no place in any Society-Period. When it happens,the Heirarchy that protects and shelters the abuser must stand for the high crime of hiding them,thus condoning them. Any Religious Denomination,as well as any secular group,has humans in it. Humans are not infallable. They can,do and will fail. When it happens in Religion,the consequences can be mortifying. The meek and humble are beautiful people. We who aren't afraid to speak out must protect them. I don't believe in a Human Cattle mentality. We are the only thing on the planet that believe's in the concept of fairness. Cripes,I've got to get off the soapbox. One last thing,and I'm going to burn in hell for it,is that to me the Pope isn't infallible. Bad sacrilidge,but that's my free will belief. He's the main shepherd of the Catholic Church. He is where the buck always stops. He has the power to reveal,expose and remove corruption of any kind among his ordained people. He needs to get busy Worldwide and remove niche's for these criminals to be hidden in. Rabbi's,Ministers and Imams fall right in the same boat. I've been so privelidged to meet genuine good Priests,Ministers and Rabbi's in my Life's work. I'm tired of them getting black eyes from clowns who pray on kids and people. They deserve better. And by the way,When I said working the same corner together,I meant as Hot Dog Cart Salesperson's,not the other profession. I'd like relish on mine,please

I am a practicing Catholic and I find it extremely offensive that they are protected. Anyone and everyone involved in a crime or a cover up should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. P.S. Pedophilia and all forms of rape should be a CAPITOL offense. Do not pass go do not collect 200 dollars.

Some days it's amazing that we've lasted this long on this spinning planet called Earth. Oh,and yes,I've both learned under and met some fantastic Nuns in my time. The bad ones we called penguins. It doesn't matter if it was a boy or a girl the fact is a rape happened and God dictated through scripture what the penalty is.

I was brought up as a Greek Catholic, back then priests were allowed to be married, my priest had 19 kids that the parish supported & two miscarriages as well. Maybe thats why the Greek Catholics went the same celibacy route but to my knowledge every one of them became priests or nuns. I always wondered why the Catholics had to take some form of marriage counseling from someone that wasn`t married.

That's a good question because the bible disagrees with that.

It's not just Catholic priests -- your only seeing half the picture.

The state of MA's liberal judges routinely set molesters free to strike again, as in the case of a 6 year old kid getting raped in a library with his mom 2 isles over.
