New Michelin Tires... Absolutely SCARY looking... Look for 'em in August.

These tires are made in
Greenville,
South Carolina , USA

SEE THROUGH TIRES
Radical new tire design by Michelin.
The next generation of tires.
They had a pair at the Philadelphia car show.

These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.
The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these.
Just think of the impact on existing technology:
A. no more air valves...
B. no more air compressors at gas stations...
C. no more repair kits...
D. no more flats...
These are actual pictures taken at the South Carolina plant of Michelin

What about snow, slush, ice or mud getting caught around the spokes? Seems like that could throw balance way out of whack...?
Still a cool idea though.

No duct tape, I always used cloths pins :D I had a rear tire tread separate from the cords on the interstate at 65, now that was scary :eek2: I now know not to judge tires by the tread, they were good but 6 years old and cracked, they don't make them like they used too. They were 8 ply truck tires and the summer heat did them in ,they had low milage by sat alot. The tire dealer said to cover them and park for extended periods on a wood block.
