WAKE UP CALL!!

Let me set the scene... I am sleeping peacefully all cuddled up in many layers of blankets. There is a lil fan on for a little white noise and just a bit of a breeze. My old German Shepherd "Gryphon" is asleep by my feet, my young German Shepherd "Toughy" (We call him Tough-Man) is asleep on the floor. My Great Dane Mouse is snuggled up to my side and sleeping happily.. then it happens... for some reason a chipmunk decided it would be a good idea to get into the house by carefully eating away the cheesy screen in my window........... Lets recap... three sleeping dogs on bed + sleeping owner on bed + chipmunk = very noisy, painful, and destructive wake up call.

The first dog to wake up was Tough man whom of course let out a joyous yip of "Lets Play!" before he took off across the bed for the terrorfied lil critter. This instantly woke up Mouse and gryphon whom for some reason decided there was a monster in the house and went on a rampage after the damn lil critter.. Long story short.. the escipade ended with the dressor on the floor, my closet rod broken, end table flipped, TV on the floor, and dirty laundry scattered all over the room.. and to add insult to injury the chippy got away!

What intresting wake up calls have you had? And does anyone have better spelling than I do?

Holy cow, what a way to wake up. Your probably lucky you didn't get seriously hurt. Shepard's don't like to give up once they get their mind set. We just lost our adopted Shepard "Chewy" last month due to a liver problem. Twice when he was let out in the morning, he took off like a rocket to the shed out back. Both times he came back with a possum in his mouth. He was so proud that he had to be sure everyone knew what he had done.

Our Lab/Shepard mix does the same thing! He is a GREAT Mouser. He just wants to play with them, but once he gets bored or they stop moving and squeeking, "CRUNCH"! thats the end of them.
