The VATs on the Table

The VATs on the Table

PostBy: lowfog01 On: Fri Apr 23, 2010 11:26 am

First we hear that the Health Care Bill will now cost us more then was revealed prior to it's passing (although that was common knowledge before the vote) and now we hear that the VAT or Value Added Tax is under serious consideration.

http://townhall.com/columnists/KenBlack ... ire?page=2 ( This is not the only link reporting this do, a google search. )

Well, why not they have to have some way to pay for the increased costs in health care and the other budget killer agenda items. Get ready for here it comes, a total tax bill of 70% for everyone. That number includes income tax, state tax, local taxes and whatever kind of tax is out there; none of those would go away. So much for not increasing the taxes on those of us earning under $250,000. Has anyone ever thought the reason that Europe takes the entire month of Aug off is that they have no work or that no work equates to no money to buy things. This is a giant job killer.

We do live in interesting times. I hope we can make it until November and then I pray that every one gets up of the sofa and gets involves. Lisa

The only good I can see coming from this is the increase of jobs for people who can fix things. The higher price for new will encourage the fixing of the old, provided they do not add a vat to the labor involved.

Of course this will be a pittance compared to the job loss from higher prices.

It will also increase the size of the underground economy. Here in NY the size of the underground economy is vast. Much bigger than what I saw in PA and NJ. Even in Philly where the income tax is nearly 5% there are not as many folks working under the table as here.

That's one thing liberals never understand about taxes. The higher the taxes go the more you drive money into less productive investments which in the end reduce tax revenue. That's why tax revenue increases whenever the tax rate drops. It's been proven under Kennedy, Reagan and Bush yet they still deny it.

I'm in favor of a flat tax with no deductions. It will put a lot of tax lawyers out of work (which could have serious side effects for the legal system) but at least there won't be a lot of money flowing into unproductive tax shelters.

HAHAHA right on!

Liberals are like the kid in grammar school that says one minute before the last bell, "Teacher, you forgot to give us our homework."
Liberals are like those women in CENTRAL MAINE last week that took their shirts off, marched in public, then got outraged when people stared at them.
Liberals say "We've all got to take care of each other! " Meaning "Somebody's got to take care of meee!"
Liberals demand racial equality from their all white neighborhoods.
Liberals in a lifeboat always say, "There's room enough for everybody even if it sinks the lifeboat and we all drown!"
Liberals demand the kind of justice that drives Corporations out of the Country.
Watch Liberals jump to take sides with your enemies, then deny it and act all huffy.

HAHAHAHAH just my opinion. Wait for the Liberal retorts to all this common sense.

What they're not telling us, is that the VAT tax works well in economies with no income tax. This way, the 47% who don't pay any income taxes in this country have to start contributing.
The Libs want both.

I used to think they were just naive, and were destroying our economy by accident. Lately, I have to wonder......
