I guess, with the VAT tax coming, you'll have to pay a fee every time you roll one.

At the local cigar shop all the bags of tobacco now have a sticker added to them "For Pipe Use Only" Hmmm :D

I've been trying to get a friend's brother to use a cigarette machine - 3 packs a day is getting expensive, even with buying cartons on the reservation.

My neice's boyfriend has a buddy in the service in the Middle East. He sends him cigarettes. He showed me a pack of Marlboro Lights that also had arabic writing on it. He also had some clove cigarettes that I guess you can't get here anymore.

There used to be a store in New Hope, Pa. The Now and Then shop. They sold '60's style stuff. Some of the things were "tobacco" pipes or "cigarette tubes" with REAL instructions on how to smoke cigarettes thru the water. WTF

Yea for the illegal sector--when will the govt. allow parents to do some parenting--or possibly,MANDATE that parents guide & influence thier childrens activities & behavior & realize that an occasional boot in the a$$$ isn'y necessarily abusive :x That idiot Dr. probably would not have a job if he wasen't just being a pain in the a$$$ per govt. directives

I'm on the fence about tobacco, worst mistake of my life. I wouldn't mind seeing them being able to get them out of the hands of any minor or reducing new smokers. Let's face it, it's an evil product. Once you're hooked you are screwed, there is not a lot of occasional smokers out there.

Having said that they need to balance that with the needs of current smokers, the cost is getting ridiculous. I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a large black market now. I could make a very good living making cigarettes with the machine I have now, with some minor modifications to automate it a little more I could make a substantial profit well into the three figures range. If they keep increasing the costs you're going to see a lot of people start doing that even if they need to start growing it themselves, you'll be creating what amounts to another illegal drug market except all the ingredients are legal. It's just the tax man not getting his share.

Richard,I think govt. action should be just what it is as far as cig. sales--card people if need be at the stores--I'm just really against the govt having MORE control over my & my families lifestyle--w/ our 5 kids one smokes,of course he picked that up in jail where he can't seem to stay out of.I also have the nasty habit of about a pak a day-in the winter I smoke in the back of the house & in the Summer,I smoke outside & always have---seems like every time I am ready to quit AGAIN,it's time for my yearly physical & when my chest x-ray comes back, the doc says--well your chest x-ray is looking good--anyway,point being--these parents better get in touch w/ what thier kids are doing as far as teen smoking goes--don't tell me I CAN't do something--bad road to go down--if people would keep thier own backyards straight this piece of crap govt wouldn't need to get involved in everything we do :x Sorry to go on & on,BUT,it pi$es me off that we as a society complain about how the govt. infringes on our privacy but do nothing about it----PHEW,thanx for listening,I feel better :)And,you're right--it will become a bigger blackmarket business

This in the comment section

If the FDA wants to help they should ban fire safe or FSC paper in cigarettes. It is made out of ethyl vinyl acetate or carpet glue and boosts both naphthalene and carbon monoxide by over 10% each. FSC paper is bad news and caused me to become quite sick. I started making my own cigarettes and then graduated to electronic smoking. Hey Massachusetts! Thanks for trying to kill me. Better luck next time.
