Geesh! Every holiday gets worse as the years go by.

As I type this right now, there is a 6 MILE backup on the Pike ... because someone apparently cut off a tractor trailer causing it to roll over. So now everyone is on Rt.20 trying to bypass that whole mess ... and they cause another accident by 49. Now people are gawking on the westbound side of the Pike, and THAT is now backed up for miles.

And somewhere there's a deer that wants to get the hell out of Dodge (can't blame him) ... and decided to take the left lane of a major road to do so.

CHAOS!! Have fun out there! I'm staying home!

I know how you feel Smitty, I don`t have any main roads near me but with the lakes & campgrounds it sure gets full of arrogant come uppers that are trying to fit a whole week into a couple days. Heck I sometimes even have to wait for a car or two at the nearest stop sign, that hardly ever happens for about seven months out of the year. Then they must all just chuck their garbage where ever they live because they sure do it here. I guess the money they spend at the local places evens everything out, just grin & bear it.

we don't really have any entertainment stuff here except me & Momma--not a big crowd drawer except for each other --SMITTY,a milk tanker went by about 6:30 this AM,it's almost 11:00 & I'm still waiting for the next vehicle to go by---Damn traffic

You're lucky Fred. There are only 6 houses on my road but we still get a lot of traffic because a lot of people use it as a shortcut. Why they want to use a dirt and gravel road is beyond me though.

On The Cape the majority of 'Cotton Heads' go into hiding for the summer...
But 'Lizards' flock here in droves...
Time to put summer driving rules into effect...
Left turns only at traffic lights, right turns everywhere else, use the back 'back roads', double the time it takes to get places in the winter months...
Put rainy day/sunny day driving rules into effect when choosing the back 'back roads'...
Always buckle up/secure the loads because 'Lizards don't see red lights/signs...
Shop on sunny days never on a cloudy/rainy day...
BTW...

Cotton Heads are the older folks who should not be driving any more...
Super slow, driving 30 in a posted 40, stopping for everyone to make the left across traffic...
They primarily are out late spring/early fall...

Lizards are the tourists, looking for the sun and liquor stores, most with a driving IQ of 20 as their brain is in 'vacation stupid' mode...
Primary season Memorial Day to Labor Day...

One good thing about summer is 'The Tent' opens and we get to see some decent entertainment up close, seats 2250 and there is not a bad seat...

Here in N.Y. we have the Saratoga racing season. The town swells and traffic makes it a bitch to get to work. On the flip side the swelling is caused by every rich prick whose arrogance and stupidity leave all the locals just waiting for the season to end. I can always tell when it is track season because when you g into the local stop and shop the "new" guys out of the city stand right behind you breathing on your neck

Used to have the same problem when I worked in Niagara falls. Easy to get around in the winter months but slow as molasses in the late spring to early fall season. The falls are actually their best in February when it looks like a giant crystal palace

WOW used to spend a lot of time on the Cape as a kid (many family FT residents on cape & islands) looking at theCCMT brought back memories hate to admit it but I saw Sha Na Na there with the original Bowser (Bowbo bo)
