How much for a pack of smokes there? I picked up a pack here tonight for 13 dollars and change. Most of that is tax. That's for 25 cigarettes. Cheaper to smoke marijuana here ;) . No tax on that....Yet

It's about $8 a pack for name brand in MA. If there's a tax to be had, you can be sure the state of MA has found it - and implemented it.

This is the stupidity of government, They will raise the tax thinking that they will get more revenue. However they don't take into account that in New York state Cigarettes are $8.00 to 10.00 a pack and in New Jersey they are $7.00-8.00. Here in Pa. they sell for $5.50. I live near the N.J. border, and I can testify that on the first few days of the month you can't get down Bridge street in Morrisville because all of the N.J. people buying cheap cigarettes from the SEVERAL tobacco shops on our side of the border. That's a saving of $15.00- $40.00 a carton! So Ed just raise the taxes and they will stop coming. Then see how much revenue you get from out of state smokers you idiot.

I think the govt. wants you to smoke--it's 5 or 10 years less Social Security they have to pay.

I used to go to Delaware once a month to buy smokes but they raised their tax to the point it wasn't worth it. Looks like I maybe taking that 30 mile trip once again.
