My BIG Windfall

My BIG Windfall

PostBy: gaw On: Thu Jun 24, 2010 4:50 am

An unexpected check arrived in the mail today. The question now is do I cash it?

I heard that it was against some regulation somewhere to write checks for less than a dollar yet financial institutions do it all the time. Maybe this so called rule or regulation is just a myth. How do you justify the postage fee to mail a 2 cent check? My personal checks cost me more than 2 cents a piece to print. I think I’ll cash it just to see the looks I get at the bank, maybe I’ll even fill out a deposit ticket and deposit into my account. toothy

You might want to set up a special int. bearing account just incase after a period of time they say it was a mistake & want all their money back.

Great idea...at 1.5% it'll only take you 15 years to add 50% to your winfall. Too bad the interest rate wasn't larger, you could almost retire by then huh?
