My pleasure. Not sure about the steel plates. I can't find anything in the manual relating to them, nor can I find anything on mine that jumps out at me. Are they just solid steel? No mounting holes or anything? Basically rectangular sheets? How thick are they?
I've never had mine completely apart. I usually take off the hopper, the fans, and the ashpan for summer storage, but I've never pulled the stoker assembly out completely. If they go in there somewhere, I probably wouldn't recognize them. But after poking around mine as much as I can with it running (and running hard with this cold snap) I can't see anything resembling what you describe. Is it possible that they belong to something else that they person from whom you bought the stove threw in?
