This time of year is one of my favorites. We grow all kinds of veggies and the like to keep a produce stand supplied. Tonight for supper it was sliced tomatoes topped with olive oil, fresh sweet basil and mozzerella cheese slices. Second course was some fresh green beans, followed by the sweet corn picked about ten minutes ago.( Can't wait for the really good stuff in a couple weeks) Had a couple slices of pickled beets that taste like candy. Finished off with a fresh salad with all the goodies. Almost hurt to have to chew on that bratworst that the old lady grilled. :)

Last night we had tacos with fresh tomatoes from the garden. A little small but just give them 2 weeks or so. Another summer favorite is Halo-Halo (hallow hallow) Made from fresh Philippine fruit, cream, and crushed ice cubes. Also Bico, made from sweet rice brown sugar and cream cooked until carmelized. Lami kaayou!!!

Now you guys did it. It's 12:15 AM and now i'm craving a tomato sandwich. Gonna have to get the flashlight and pick one. just a simple sliced tomato on toast with a little mayo and a shake of pepper.
